Sassy Carrie Bradshaw in Paris

We have reached the last image in the Sassy Studio Designs Sex and the City relay!!!!  Allow me to introduce you to Sassy Carrie.

How great were these four images?!  Lindsay outdid herself once again.  And let's give a shout out to our SSD Paper Craft Planet coordinator Regan for all her hard work getting this all organized.  Sassy Studio Designs has crossed the 700 member line and I think this progressive relay was a great way to celebrate.  We have seen so many beautiful creations from all of you and our fabulous Design Team.  I am just amazed by all the talent out there.

For my card, I continued my pink & black pop-up card theme so now I have a coordinated set of SATC cards.  I found this great paper from Chickadee.  I knew I needed something with shoes on it for Carrie.  That girl does love her shoes!  The pink with black polka dots on the front of the card is part of the same digital paper set.  I stamped the Eiffel tower on it and added the flourish which was from Cheery Lynn.  And of course I colored Carrie with Copics, cut her out and popped her up.

I plan on posting a video tutorial for these pop-ups in just a couple of days.  Wish me luck as it will be my first video.  Thanks so much for supporting Sassy Studio Designs.

I am entering these challenges:

One Stitch At A Time #119 - Summer dresses
Ruby's Rainbow #31 - Black, white + one other color (pink)
Fab 'n' Funky #127 - Cute and girly
Totally Paper Crafts - Use a digital image
Card Crafter's Circle #29 - Construction cards
Love to Create #21 - Anything goes
Charisma Cards #25 - Anything goes
Joyful Stampers - Anything goes

Miranda, Clean and Simple

Here comes Miranda Hobbs.  It is Round 3 of the Sassy Studio Designs Sex & the City relay and those of you that made it through Rounds 1 & 2 will now receive this Miranda image.

Our challenge for this round is Clean & Simple.  At first glance, this may not look CAS.  I used polka dot paper on the front of the card and it does look quite busy but I only used one designer paper, one ribbon and one die cut...see...CAS.  As for the image, I am sure Cynthia Nixon would love to have the shape Lindsay created, especially the cleavage.

Now the inside is entirely different.  I will agree that it is not CAS at all.  Miranda is typically a no nonsense kind of gal but she does like to have fun so I wanted the inside to be just that.  I did not make any of these embellies.  I bought them at Pat Catan's and I can't remember what company made them.  The papers on this one are from Chickadee Digital.  I have a special paper from Chickadee that I will be using on my final SATC card.  I can't wait to show it to you.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and check out the other fabulous Miranda creations.  I hope you have all been playing along to help us celebrate reaching 700 members on Paper Craft Planet.

Entered these challenges:

Sentimental Sundays #108 - Cute and girly

SSD Round 2...Blingity Bling Bling Bling

Welcome to Round 2 of the Sassy Studio Designs Sex & the City Progressive Relay.  Boy that's a mouthful isn't it?  All the crafters who completed the Sassy Charlotte Friendship challenge will get Sassy Samantha.

The Sassy Samantha challenge is called Blingity Bling Bling Bling.  The more bling, the better.  On Sex & the City, Samantha suffered from breast cancer.  I wanted to continue my theme of pink and black pop-ups for the SATC ladies so I immediately thought of a cancer card.  The sentiment is from Stamp Insanity and I believe Samantha even said "cancer sucks" several times on the show.    I will let you in on a little secret, I was fiddling around with the front of this card after I finished taking the pictures and I accidentally ripped Samantha's arm off.

Here are the challenges I've entered:

Robyn's Fetish #115 - No flowers anywhere
Party Time Tuesday #74 - Anything goes
Tiddly Inks #89 - Pretty in Pink
Ruby's Rainbow #31 - Black, white + one other color (pink)
Crafts & me #89 - Anything goes

Joyful Stamper - Anything goes
ATC's and Cards #16 - Anything goes
2 Sisters #97 - Anything goes
Fat Pages - Anything goes
Link Up For Pink #3 - Breast Cancer Awareness + Pink

I can't wait to see what our Paper Craft Planet followers do with their Samantha image.  Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs to see what the Design Team did with her.  Thanks for stopping by.

Sassy Sex & the City

Sassy Studio Designs is celebrating reaching 700 members on Paper Craft Planet.  How exciting!!!!!  To celebrate, Lindsay has created brand new images of all 4 Sex & the City ladies.  I would like to introduce you to
Sassy Charlotte.

If you would like to have your very own Sassy Charlotte, just head over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog and get her.  We are starting a progressive relay today.  That means we will start you off with this image.  If you follow the instructions and make a project by the deadline, you will receive the next Sex & the City image for free.  You will then have to make and post a project with that image to get the next and so on. The challenge we have for Charlotte is Friends.

I decided to do some pop-up cards.  All my Sex & the City posts will be pop-ups.  When I am finished, I plan on posting a video.  I tried to channel my inner Charlotte for this card.  As you know, Charlotte is such a sweetie and the most innocent of the 4 ladies on that show.  Not to say she is innocent, but when you compare her to the others, she is angelic.  I was going for the look of her apartment (which is soft and white) when I started.  Then I thought it was a little too boring so I started adding black.  My sentiment was Girls just want to have Fun, which I thought would do for a friend card, but my sister had the idea to change Fun to Friends.  Brilliant!  Thanks Robin.

I have entered into these challenges:

One Stitch At A Time #119 - Summer Dresses
Sentimental Sundays #108 - Cute and girly
Tammy's Scrapin' Corner #15 - Ribbons or bows
Clear It Out - Anything goes with more than one ribbon
Tiddly Inks #89 - Pretty in Pink
Crafts and More #89 - Anything goes
Delightful Challenges - Anything goes
Paper Play #25 - Use a die
Sweet Stampin' - Ribbon and bows

Don't forget to get your free image over at Sassy Studio Designs and play along with us.  Thanks for stopping by.

Bachelorette Party

Welcome to another fabulous Sassy Studio Designs Mini Release & Hop.  Today we have some great bachelorette images to share with you.  If you came from the super talented Karen's blog, you are in the right place.  I am using Final Fling Sassy.

Isn't she gorgeous?!  I decided to add her to the wedding album I am working on.  The man in the picture is my new Nephew-in-Law Kyle.  I took tons of pictures at the wedding.  When I went to print them I noticed that not one picture had Kyle by himself.  I ended up just cropping this picture so I could make him the focal point.  The page opposite this one in the book will have him with his parents.  I will add the final embellies and notes to this once I get the basic layout of all the pages done.  I have to tell you all that Kyle is a welcome addition to the family.  He is a very, very nice man.  Welcome to the family Kyle.

Now on to business.  The assignment today is to tell you of my own bachelorette experience.  Unfortunately, I can't do that as I didn't have a bachelorette party.  My now husband and I went to lunch with his entire family.  Afterwards I asked my hubby what plans his brothers had for his bachelor party.  He innocently said, we just had it.  Lunch was the bachelor party.  I then said but your mother and I were there.  He said that was ok with him.  I don't drink and I am not a fan of loud, crowded places and my sister had just had cancer surgery, so we didn't go out at all which was just fine with me.

I do have a story though.  I love the movie The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. Andrew's (RR) family takes Sandra to see an exotic dancer.  The scene is hilarious.  The dancer  makes Margaret (SB) come up on stage and Andrew's grandmother (Betty White) tells her to "smack his ass!"  I just never thought I would hear that coming out of Betty White's mouth.  I love that part of the movie.

Since I am the last stop on the hop, please head back to SSD and leave your bachelorette story for a chance to win both images.  Good luck.  Then come back tomorrow.  We are having a celebration over at Paper Craft Planet.  You won't want to miss it.
Here is the hop list in case you got lost:

Summer Shades

It is Fabulous Freebie Friday again.  This week's free image from Sassy Studio Designs is called Soda Pop and the challenge is Summer Shades. If you are an SSD follower on Paper Craft Planet then you can get your very own image.  If you are not, what are you waiting for?  We will be having a big celebration next week.  Just follow us and join in the conversations.  Big big things happening next week!  You will want to be a part of it.  If you are a Sex and the City fan, you are going to love the new images coming.  All the details are posted on PCP.

Back to my card now.  I colored her with Copics.  I must say it isn't my best work.  My hands just didn't feel like cooperating with me.  I know her name is Soda Pop but I gave her a bottle of water.   Since the theme is Summer Shades I thought water went better with summer.  I got the flower from Creative Soup for the Soul.  I know the store sight just changed so I don't have the current link.  So sorry.

These are the challenges I have entered:

Sweet Stampin' - Summer fun
Lia Stampz #19 - Summer
Charisma Cardz #24 - Summer
Cute Card Thursday #222 - Here comes summer
Scrapalicious USA - Summertime
Crazy Amigo - Summer colors

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there.  Today we have another awesome challenge for you from Platypus Creek Digitals.  The challenge is Black, White and One Other Color.  As you can see, I chose olive green as my color.

I asked our fearless leader, Tracey, to pick the image for me for this challenge.  Boy did she pick the right one.  As you know, I have a house full of parrots.  My father-in-law finds them fascinating  so I thought this image would do double duty for me.  First of all, be my design team card and secondly, for my FIL's Father's Day card.

I started with this image called Birdcage on Branch from Platypus Creek.  I cut it out and popped it up.  The Birdcage was cut away from the branch and then reattached with some black and white twine.  The cage swings freely.  The designer paper was from Graphic 45.  It was a leftover piece from the Wiz of Oz collection.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I know my bow is placed a little too high but I had to do it that way.  I blackened the edges of the image after I cut it out and smudged a little ink on the paper.  I had to cover it up.  It is hard to tell but the DP trim and the scalloped edge is actually popped up above image.  It doesn't really show through on the picture.

These are the challenges I have entered:

Take Time For You #69 - Boy's / men's cards
Simon Says - Anything goes
Paper and Such - Our feathered friends
Fab 'n' Funky #125 - Father's Day
C.R.A.F.T. #159 - Father's Day
Charisma Cards #23 - Male cards
Southern Girls #46 - Things with wings
Card Makin' Mamas #47 - Father's Day
Delicious Doodles #21 - For the fellas
My Sheri Crafts #87 - Father's Day

Please head over to Platypus Creek and see what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by.

SSD Wedding Hop

Welcome back for another absolutely fabulous Mini Release and Hop from Sassy Studio Designs.  This weekend we have two beautiful bride images to show you.  The beautiful little girl above is my darling great niece Bailey.  We call her Bug.  She made her first appearance as a flower girl in May at her aunts wedding.  She did an amazing job at the rehearsal but froze at the wedding.  I asked her if she would ever do it again and she said "NO, I was scared!"

I had trouble again taking my pictures.  If anyone out there has any help they could give me I would greatly appreciate it.  I can't seem to take a picture of a 12x12 page.  This was the best I could get.  This new bride image is perfect for the wedding scrapbook I am working on.  It sort of reminds me of Grace (the bride).  I have several pages started for the book.  I will go back after I get the rest planned out and add my finishing touches.

We have a chance for you to win one of these beautiful brides for your very own.  All you have to do is go through our hop and check out what our talented Design Team has created with these beautiful brides.  Then, leave some love on their blogs.  The last step is to go around your house and take a picture of

Something Old, Something New,
Something Borrowed and Something Blue
and email them to me at
rsandy1017(at)aol(dot)com.

You have until midnight on Sunday (EDT) to get your entries in.  The Design Team will vote and the most creative will win.  Sounds like fun right?!  So what are you waiting for?

Here is the hop list:
Rebecca - you are here

We have more treats coming for you this month so please check back next weekend.  We also have a lot going on at Paper Craft Planet.  Make sure you head over there and check out all the details.  You won't want to miss the fun.

Here Comes the Maid of Honor

Hi everyone.  It is Fabulous Freebie Friday time again from Sassy Studio Designs.  Today, on Paper Craft Planet, Lindsay is giving away this super cute image called Brianna the Bridesmaid.  As you may or may not know, I am working on a scrapbook of my niece Grace's wedding.  Her Maid-of-Honor happened to be another one of my nieces named Alicia.  I call her Bianca.

She looked so pretty all dressed up.  It is hard to believe she is only 14.  Today's image goes beautifully with this page.  I had issues getting a good picture again.  In the left corner there is a lovely picture of Bianca during the rehearsal.  She was just sitting on the steps in the church waiting for them to need her again.  I thought it was a great shot.  Later on, I asked Bianca to walk up and down the aisle for me so I could practice shooting a video.  She came in with the thumbs up you see in the smallest picture on the page.

My background paper is from DCWV and I used a Martha Stewart punch on the main picture.  I colored my image with Copics and added a touch of glitter.  I still need to add a title and some embellies but I will do that part after I get the rest of my pages organized.  Please head over to the SSD group Paper Craft Planet and get your own copy of this image for free.  You better hurry, it will only be there for 24 hours.  Also check back tomorrow.  We have another mini release and hop for you.  See you then.

Thanks for stopping by.

Baby Card

Hi everyone.  I had a friend who needed a baby card for a very young mom-to-be.  I created this one for her.  The shower theme was pink and black.  I used this great background (which was pre-approved) because of the youthful feel.  My niece likes this kind of thing.  The image is Sleeping Infant from Digi Doodles and was colored with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by.

Feeling Punchy

Welcome to another wonderful Corrosive Challenges challenge.  This challenge is Feeling Punchy.  We ask that you use 2 or more punches on your project.  We are sponsored by one of my new favorite stamp shops...MayzyArt.

Here is my first MayzyArt creation.

I colored this adorable ballerina for my Junior BFF Sarah.  She has a ballet recital today.  Then I was made aware of MayzyArt Appreciation Day.  Mayzy was giving away a free image of her choosing to any customer who left her a comment about what images you loved on her blog.  I was so excited when I received the adorable ballerina below.

This was even more perfect for Sarah so I HAD to do a second card.  I love the little bandage on her knee!  How cute is this?!!!!  I colored both of these little cuties with Copics, fussy cut them out and popped them up.  On the first card, I used a ribbon punch on the edges of the card and a corner punch on the corners.  The designer paper is from Stampin' Up.

I cheated on my second card.  My punches are actually dies.  The center is from Spellbinders and the corners are from Marianne Design.  The background papers are from my box-o'-scraps.  This didn't turn out the way I wanted but I think you can't go wrong with such an adorable image.

Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and see what the rest of the design team has created.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Tie the Knot

It is Fabulous Freebie Friday time with Sassy Studio Designs.  Today's free SSD image on Paper Craft Planet is Jenny the June Bride.  The challenge is Tie the Knot.  Use a ribbon and tie a knot or a bow on your project.

My niece just got married on May 19th.  I am currently working on a scrapbook of the wedding.  I thought this image would be perfect for the book.  I decided to do a page showing them getting ready right before the wedding with a focus on the bride.  I had camera issues big time with this one.  The background paper (from DCWV) has such a shine to it that the lighting just couldn't adjust.  The lighting in the brides picture made the background yellow and Grace blue.

I still have to add a title to this page and do some journaling.  I made a second tag with pocket but the page was so busy already.   I think I added a bit too much to this page.  Make sure you head over to Paper Craft Planet and get your free image.  It is only available for 24 hours.  Also, SSD is have another mini release and blog hop tomorrow.  You won't want to miss it.  And if that isn't enough for you, we will be having a special treat on PCP coming up this month as well.  Check PCP for all the details.

Platypus Creek Digitals Challenge - For the Boys

Welcome back for another awesome Platypus Creek Digitals challenge.  This challenge is For the Boys.  Please make a project designed for a Boy or Man.  Here is mine.

If you are like me, you don't make a lot of masculine cards.  It isn't as easy as it sounds.  Most of the papers I have are very far from masculine.  I searched through what I had and came up with this.  I started with the Blue Jay image from Platypus Creek Digitals.  I colored it with Copics.  I wanted to add some white gel pen to it but one broke and I can't find my other one.  I will have to go back and add it later.  I cut out my Blue Jay and popped it up.

I know bows aren't usually thought of as masculine but I felt like this card needed something more on the side. I am not sure who I will give this to but I will figure it out.  I thought at first it would make a good Father's Day card for my husband from our parrots.  Unfortunately, I made it while he was in the room so he has already seen it.  I still might give it to him.  I usually do something for him with a bird on it.  I hope you like it.

Please head over to Platypus Creek Digitals and see what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Challenges entered:

The Stamp Man - Make it for a man

Celebrate with SSD

Hello everyone.  I know, 3 posts in one day.  This is a first for me.  We have made a few changes and switched a few people around at SSD so now I am a Fabulous Freebie Friday Fabette.  For those of you who don't know, Sassy Studio Designs gives away a free image every Friday on Paper Craft Planet.  Here is today's freebie:

This is Ashlee's Prom.  Isn't she adorable.  The challenge is Celebrate.  Doesn't this take you back to the 80s?  I planned this out in my head at work today.  I wanted the entire project to be all black and white with polka dots.  The stripes were just a happy accident.  I was digging through my box-o'-scraps and had this leftover from another project.  The ribbon is from So Trendy and I just love it.  I have had it for a while and just opened it yesterday.  The main die cut is from QuicKutz.  I also used two different embossing folders on the circles.  I colored her with Copics.  The only thing missing is the white dots in her eyes.  My white pen broke :(.

Make sure you head over to Paper Craft Planet to get your freebie.  Before you go, let me tell you a little secret.  SSD is having a surprise mini-release blog hop on Saturday.  Make sure you check it out.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Doodle Pantry Torch

This is my second post for the day.  I had so much fun with the Doodle Pantry eagle that I wanted to do another one of the newly released images.  This is the Liberty Torch.  Awesome right?!  I colored this while I was home sick.  I had just finished reading the first 2 Hunger Games books.  After reading about Katniss, the girl on fire, I had to color the flames.  Since I was doing that, I decided to color the hand with flesh tones instead of the color of the metal.  I thought it would add more impact to the flames.  I used Copics for all the coloring and added a touch of glitter on the tips of the flames.

Please head over to Doodle Pantry and check out all the new images.  Laurie does an amazing job! Thanks Laurie.  Thanks for stopping by.

Doodle Pantry Eagle

It is the first and that means brand new Doodle Pantry releases.  This is the Patriotic Eagle.  Isn't it magnificent?  This version comes in either line drawing or colored.  It also comes with sentiments and 2 digital papers.  I chose to color my eagle so I used the line drawing.  I always find it challenging to do white so whenever I get the chance, I go for it.  The more you practice, the better you will get.  I like the way he came out.

Please head over to Doodle Pantry and check out all the new releases.  They are all wonderful.  Thanks for stopping by.
