Hi everyone.  I am often asked to share pictures and videos of my kids (parrots).  I put a video up on YouTube yesterday of 3 of my babies in the shower.  Here is the link if anyone would like to see it:

Sparkle & Shine Ursula

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the current Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge.  The challenge is Sparkle and Shine.  I used Sassy Studio Designs new Vicious Villain Ursula.  For my Sparkle, I used glitter glue on her trident, in her hair and on her suckers.  For the Shine, I covered her body with crystal accents.  I thought that added to her octopus look.

The designer paper is from Graphic 45.  Who doesn't love Graphic 45!  The waves were done with a Fiskars border punch.  I added some liquid applique for the foam.  The fish were part of the paper collection.  I just cut them out and popped them up with SU dimensionals.  The ribbon is generic.

I loved the Little Mermaid when the movie came out.  My niece, Becca, was very young at the time.  She would play the movie over and over and over again.  I learned all the songs with her.  Eventually, she would stand in front of the TV and refuse to move unless I stopped singing.  She was the only one allowed to sing along.

If you love Ursula, she is available at the SSD shop.  Thanks for stopping by.

Vicious Villain Honeys Blog Hop

Welcome to another fabulous Sassy Studio Designs Blog Hop and Release.  If you arrived here from the lovely Soma's blog, you're are on the right track.  If you didn't, please head over to SSD and start at the beginning.  All the prize details are listed there so get going.  Here is Lady Tremaine.  I must admit that when I got this assignment, I had to look up who she was.  I always just knew her as Cinderella's stepmother.  I didn't know her name until now.
I used a sketch from My Favorite Things MFTWSC86.  I am not really all that good with sketches but I wasn't feeling well and I thought a sketch would make the process go faster.  I colored her with Copics and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  We were asked to add a villainous sentiment to our cards.  I looked through my stamps and found Forget Prince Charming.  I cut off the rest of the sentiment which said I want a vampire.  I bet you already guessed it was from a Twilight collection.  I am not really all that happy with how my card turned out this time.  I guess I shouldn't try to craft when I don't feel good.
We were also asked to tell you what our favorite Disney movie is.  I just can't decide.  There are so many great ones.  Instead, I would like to share a couple of cards made by my little nieces.  They love to craft and they love Sassy Studio Designs images.  My sister and I decided to help them with their own blog.  Here are their cards and a link to their blog.  They are young so they have to share a blog.

Happy Birthday Mrs. Jones

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the current challenge at The Crazy Challenge.  The challenge is "Anything Goes".  I decided to make a tag for Mrs. Jones.  It is almost her birthday and she loves Halloween.  The image I chose for her is Sassy Mummy from SSD.  I made her blond because Mrs. Jones is blond.

I colored my mummy with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I added strips of bling because Mrs. Jones goes nowhere without her bling.  Please head over to The Crazy Challenge and join in the fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cute as a Button

Hi everyone.  Today's Corrosive Challenge is a easy one.  It is called Cute as a Button. All you have to do to participate is use buttons on your project.  Our sponsor this month is Saturated Canary.  Krista has some of the best images around.  SC has become one of my favorites.

I decided to use my niece and namesake Rebecca as my inspiration.  She recently had a baby and it isn't going well.  Baby Zoe still hasn't come home from the hospital.  She ended up having lots of medical problems and is on my mind constantly.  A few months ago I went to visit Becca and she had an adorable piece of blue hair.  It is gone now but I really liked it so I added it to my image.  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up on SU dimensionals.  The image had cute little pom poms added to the blanket.  I put liquid applique on it to puff them up.

My thoughts go out to Becca and Zoe and hope that Zoe goes home soon.  Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and see what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Garden Delights

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the current Party Time Tuesdays challenge.  The theme is Garden Delights.  I wasn't quite sure what that meant when I received this assignment.  Sassy Studio Designs just released this gorgeous image called China Honey on Saturday.  My head went to how beautiful Chinese gardens are so I decided to go for it.  I found several images online that would work beautifully with this image.  The hard part was choosing one.  I hope you like it.

After I finished coloring her with Copics (which I did in a restaurant while out with my friends), I cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I put the card together very quickly.  I didn't add any extras except the ribbon because I didn't want to cover up the background.  I hope this qualifies as a Garden Delight.  Please head over to Party Time Tuesdays and join in.  Also check out all the new images at Sassy Studio Designs.

Thanks for stopping by.

I am very excited to bring you Japan Honey.  The theme for our hop is Birthday but I screwed up so please forgive me.  For those of you who don't speak Japanese, Arigato means Thank You.  I apologize to you and to all my fellow Design Team members.  I was trying so hard to stick with JapaNese and I wasn't paying attention.

Tea Anyone?

Hi everyone.  Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring not one, but two challenge blogs.  The first is Altered Elusions and their challenge is Mixed Media.  I wasn't quite sure where to start with this one.  I was cleaning my room and found some fat quarters I forgot about in my quilting stash.  The teapots on the fabric made me think of Alice in Wonderland and luckily SSD has an Alice image.  I colored her with Copics but unfortunately I did it while watching TV and hanging pictures up in my living room.  I had focus issues causing me to mess her hair up a little.

The second challenge blog is Sunday Sketch & Stamp.  Here is the sketch they provided.
This gave me my layout.  For the bottom left corner, I used chipboard.  I coated it with several layers of ultra thick embossing powder.  While it was hot, I stamped it.   Then I used some rub-n-buff to bring out the impression of the stamp.  I also added some lace and a cute little lady bug brad.

Please check out these challenges and join in.  Have a great day.

I am entering my card into these challenges:

Dream Valley #38 - Die cuts and punches
Inky Impressions - Embossing
Art Impressions #74 - Stitching or fabric
Squiggle Stamps - Use your stash
Crazy Amigo - Dies and punches
Bearly mine - Anything goes

Winter Worm from Doodle Pantry

This little cutie is Winter Worm, part of the new release from Doodle Pantry.  Doesn't he make you think of the movie A Christmas Story?  I used to babysit a family of three when I was 16.  I took the three kids to see that movie as a treat for being good.  I was a bit shocked that their parents let me.  But then again, I wasn't the average teenager and they were perfectly safe with me.  We all had a great time.  I thought this would make a great Christmas card for a kid.

I colored this little worm with Copics, cut him out and popped him up on SU dimensionals.  The papers are from Authentique.  I added some glass bead gel on the worm and some glass effects on the pole for ice.  I had trouble with the lighting so you can't really see it but in person, the ice looks cool.  The ribbon is leftover from some wedding favors I made.

Please head over to Doodle Pantry and check out all the fabulous new releases.  Thanks for stopping by.

Back to School Birdie from Doodle Pantry

It is that time of year when all the children go back to school.  Sometimes, even little birdies go to school.  This is School Birdie from Doodle Pantry.  Isn't he adorable?  I used my darling Amazon Sydney as inspiration for this little birdie.  The color on his cheeks is the color of the back of Sydney's neck.  I love it when Sydney flairs her tail so you can see the beautiful red parts of her feathers.

Please head over to Doodle Pantry and check out all the fabulous new releases.  Thanks for stopping by.

I am entering into the following challenges:

Paper Playtime #80 - Anything goes
