Hang in There!

Hi everyone.  Today I am happy to bring this little Doodle Pantry cutie to all of you who are having a rough time, which includes me.  This image is called Quirky Possum.  You just can't help but smile when you look at him.  I colored him while watching Supernatural.  For those of you who watch that show you know it doesn't exactly give a lot of cute, fun inspiration.  But it does have Jared Padalecki which always helps to put me in a good mood.  I know I am way too old for him but it is fun to dream.

I used Copics for all the coloring except the white.  I used a Signo pen for that.  I cut him out when I was done.  I popped him up with SU dimensionals.  I also made extra feet and used rolled up glue dots to pop those up.  The die cut is from Quick Kutz.  I am really loving their doily dies.  They add spongy stuff to the holes so they come out on their own.  No more using your paper piercer to pull them out!

I hope you enjoyed this lil' feller!  Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to head over to Doodle Pantry to get your own Quirky Possum.

With Deepest Sympathy

I am so happy to be able to use another awesome Doodle Pantry image.  Unfortunately, I am using it for a sad occasion.  My great uncle passed away yesterday.  He was 92.  He was the last of my grandmother's siblings.  She actually made it to 93 before she passed away.  I wasn't really close with him but I do adore his daughter.  This card will be going out to her.

I decided to use the English Bluebells from Doodle Pantry.  I thought they were so pretty.  I colored them with Copics, cut them out and popped them up with SU dimensionals.  I wanted to keep the card as simple as I could.  I usually don't add sentiments (which is strange because I call my blog Sydney's Sentiments).  I was told by many customers at a craft show that they liked an image but not the sentiment so I just quit putting them on my cards.  I think I will start again.  A great sentiment came with this particular image and I am wishing I would have put it on here.  The sentiment is I am so sorry.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all my family members.  We have suffered several losses in the last few years including my mother who passed away last year.

Alice

Simply B Stamps can't have a Wonderland Collection without an Alice now can they?!  Here she is, Miss Alice herself.  I looked just like this when I was little and so did my sister Rhonda, yellow hair and all but my eyes are hazel.  Funny because my brother and sister Robin both have red hair.

I colored Alice with Copics.  I have been trying to tweak my techniques as I have been asked to do some video tutorials.  I really like the way her face came out.  I still need a bit of practice though.  I work with some amazing ladies whose coloring blows my socks off.  See...naked feet.

The main background paper is from Jazzy Pattern's Wonderland collection.  The checkerboard paper is actually from a Twilight paper pack.  You know I love Twilight!!!  I ran the gold piece through my BigShot with a Tim Holtz Pocket Watch folder.  Does anyone have trouble with the TH embossing folders?  They give a really deep impression, which is awesome, but sometimes it is too deep.  I rip a lot of paper with his folders.  I again made this one 5x7 so I could frame the entire set and I did it all with my crafting tiara atop my head.

I don't know if you can see in the picture but Alice, the potion bottle, the watch and the playing cards on the bottom are all popped up.  I don't think it came through well on the picture.  Please head over to SBS and see what the others have created with this fabulous image.  Then come back tomorrow, we will not only be previewing the final image but we will be having a blog hop as well.  Hope to see you then.

Off With Her Head

Here comes another fabulous Simply B Stamps Wonderland Chibi.  Today we bring you the Queen of Hearts/Red Queen.  Isn't she awesome?!  I had so much fun coloring this one.  I think the tiara really helped me out this time.

I colored my queen with Copics.  She was cut apart and her head and flamingo are both popped up.  I was too lazy to go get my SU dimensionals so I used some pop dots from Darice.  They are a little thicker than I like but as I said, I was too lazy to go upstairs tonight.  The background paper is from the Jazzy Patterns Wonderland collection.  I used my Tim Holtz Poker Face embossing folder for the playing card.  It really makes a deep impression...almost too deep.  I had to do it 3 times before I got one that didn't split apart.  I used gold Rub 'n Buff on it.  It was the first time I tried it so it is a bit heavy in places.

This collection has been so much fun to work with.  We have 2 more to go after this one so make sure you check us out tomorrow.  Also, please head over to SBS to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Smile!!!

Welcome to another Simply B Stamps Wonderland Chibi Preview!  Today is the Cheshire Cat.  I put my crafting tiara on again and colored this little cutie pie.  I had this awesome idea to make it look like actual fur while I was coloring.  Somehow my brain forgot to tell my hands.  Perhaps my tiara was on too tight but at least I tried.  I plan on working on my fur in the future.

That aside, I completed my cat and kept going.  I have had this fabulous background paper for ages.  I use it any chance I can.  I thought it went beautifully with my cat.  The ribbon is from my box-o'-scraps.  I don't know if it has been obvious in my last 3 projects but I have been making them 5X7 instead of my usual A2 cards.  I plan on matting and framing the Wonderland Chibis when I finish them.  I thought they would be cute in a little girls room.  Or maybe I will try to sell them at a craft show.

Please head over to SBS to see what the other DT members have created.  They are such a talented group of ladies.  I am proud to be a part of the team.  Thanks for stopping by and check back tomorrow for the next image.

The White Queen

Welcome to Day #2 of the Simply B Stamps Wonderland Chibis.  Today is the White Queen.  I have a confession to make.  Bianca (aka Alicia, my niece, her blog link is on my sidebar) and I bought tiaras to wear while we craft.  So with my tiara on, I tackled the White Queen.

I colored the Queen with Copics.  I got a little heavy handed with the gold.  I love gold!  So to tone it down I added a chunky white glitter from Darice to her dress and then crystal fine glitter from Martha on her hair.  I used my new QuicKutz doily rectangle again.  I really love it.  The background paper is digital from Jazzy Patterns.  I just discovered JP.  Great stuff.  I used Tim Hotz Pocket Watches embossing folder for the section directly behind the Queen.

I still feel like something is missing.  I am sure I will run across the perfect embellishment at some point and I will add it then.  Right now, I am not sure what I want to add.  FYI, the tiara is still on while I post.  Please hop over to SBS and see what the other DT members have created and come back tomorrow for some furry (hint, hint) fun.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Welcome to Wonderland

Simply B Stamps is taking us to Wonderland this week.  We will be previewing some amazing images this week and will be releasing them on day 6.  All you Alice fans will be so pleased with this set.  I know I love it!

Today, I am proud to bring you Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.  This was another one that was difficult to photograph.  First of all, I am still using my camera phone because I haven't mastered my new camera yet.  Secondly, the background gave my camera grief while trying to focus.  There is a lot of shading on the faces but you can't see it too well.  I guess I will have to lock myself up for a day and learn the new camera.

The background papers are from Graphic 45.  I wish that I had purchased the entire set.  I only bought a few pages and now they are all gone...so sad :(   I colored the Tweedles with Copic markers and cut them out.  They are popped up with SU dimensionals.  I made a tiny boo boo between their feet.  I forgot to cut a little piece out and now it is too late.  Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?  It has already been attached permanently.  I would appreciate any ideas you have as it is driving me nuts.  Which honestly didn't take much.  I live on the edge of nuts most of the time.

Please head over to SBS and check out what the rest of the Design Team has created.  We will have more tomorrow.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Things are Looking Grimm over at Corrosive Challenges

Hi everyone.  It is time for another fabulous challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  This month we are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs.....love, love, love SSD (and not just because I am on the DT).  Lindsay, the SSD artist/owner is amazing.  Her images get better and better with each new release.  The current CC challenge is called Things are Looking Grimm.  We are asking you to create a project based on a fairy tale, fable or children's story.

I chose to do Snow White.  This image is Little Honey Snow White from Sassy Studio Designs.  I colored her with Copics and cut her out.  She is popped up with SU dimensionals.  I added mirror paper behind her.  What a pain to photograph.  Everytime I tried to take the picture, you could see my hot pink shirt and my bright green camera phone.  I finally had to put a white pillow in front of myself and shoot down on the card to get a decent picture.  This was the best I could do.

The beautiful frame behind the mirror is a doily rectangle from QuicKutz.  This was the first time I used it (usually use Spellbinders) and I must say I love it.  There is cushioning in all the little holes so your paper doesn't get stuck in it.  I wish all my dies had it!  It was a pleasure to use.  The embossing part didn't go as well as with Spellbinders but I may have needed another shim with it.   I made the flower with a Cheery Lynn die.  I also need to practice that one.  It didn't come out as pretty as I wanted.  I will get it next time though.  I made the apple background paper using a free clip art apple.

Before I send you off to see what the other Design Team members have created, I would like to brag a little.  My niece is getting married in May.  She just got her dress and she looks so beautiful in it.  One of my other nieces is her Maid of Honor and she just had a fitting for her dress and she looked lovely.  Now I have to figure out what I am going to wear.  Please head over to CC and see what fabulous inspiration cards the rest of the Design Team created for you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Doodle Pantry Lion

Hello everyone.  I wanted to share my latest Doodle Pantry creation with you.  This image is from the Lion & Lamb collection.  I am obviously just using the lion on my project.  I am a huge animal lover and always have been.  In fact, I have had a crush on Jungle Jack Hannah since I was a teenager.  When I saw this image, I knew it would be one of my favorites.

I colored my lion with Copic markers and tried to channel my inner Mufasa as I colored.  This took me quite a while to get the way I wanted it.  I then cut him out and popped him up on SU dimensionals.  I don't think you can see the 3D in the photo very well.  I wanted to go rustic so I distressed all the papers with my Tim Holtz distress tool and added some tea distress ink to all the edges.  I put a piece of burlap behind the lion the zebra paper is almost like cloth.  Both are from Home Basic.  I also tied a piece of black jute around the card.  Boy is it hard to tie a bow with that stuff!!!  My final touch is a giraffe brad from Eyelet Outlet.  I have been wanting to use this forever but never had the right project for it.  It kind of got lost there but I don't care.  I got to use it!

Thanks so much to Doodle Pantry for this fabulous image and thank you for stopping by.  Have a good one!

Saint Patrick's Day!

Whoooo Whoooot!!!!  Isn't she a hottie?!  Today we have another Fabulous Friday Freebie from Sassy Studio Designs and the challenge is to use a charm.  As you know, SSD gives a freebie every Friday on Paper Craft Planet.  This is one of my favorites.  This Saint Patrick's Day image is brand new and has never been seen before.  Lindsay is so talented.  I don't know how she keeps topping herself time and time again.

I colored my image with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  My background paper is from Reminisce and the polka dot paper is from Doodle Bug.  I stopped at Pat Catan's today to get the paper and made a new friend.  We were talking and she feels the same way about crafting as I do.  I can't wait to get to know her better and see what she is working on.  Her Christmas Village sounded amazing!  The ribbon is from my box-o'-scraps.  The cute charm is from Darice and it came off of a childs bracelet.  I couldn't resist.

Please head over to the Sassy Studio Designs group on Paper Craft Planet to see what the other Design Team members have done.  And don't forget to get your free image while you are there.  Thanks for stopping by.

Miss Rio Burton

Hi everyone.  I would like you to meet Miss Rio Burton from Simply B Stamps.  You all know how Betty likes to combine her family with her images.  Now she has added her daughter Rio to the Burton Chibi family.  What a cutie!!!

I colored Rio with Copics.  I tried to give her the same feel as Beetlejuice and Lydia Deets.  I am really loving the polka dot paper.  It is so pretty in real life.  All the dots have glitter on them.  I added some plaid brads for a little extra fun.

Please head over to SBS to see what the rest of the team has done.  Then please come back tomorrow.  We  have one more Burton Chibi to show you!!!!  Thanks for stopping by.

Lydia Deets

Here's another awesome Burton Chibi from Simply B Stamps.  Yesterday we had Beetlejuice...today we have Miss Lydia Deets.  I think this image really captured her, don't you?  I colored this little cutie with Copics, cut her out and popped her up (as usual).  I wanted to tie her together with yesterdays Beetlejuice card so I used the same papers and ribbon.

We only have two more Burton Chibis left.  Make sure you head over to Simply B Stamps and see what the others have created.  Then come back tomorrow for more!!!!!  Thanks for stopping by.

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice

Today, Simply B Stamps brings you Beetlejuice!!!  I must first start by apologizing for his hair.  I printed him on my new printer.  For some reason, as my hand was rubbing the paper, the toner was wiping off.  I don't know if the new printer is defective or what but it should have heat set it but it didn't.  I was running behind (again) and I rushed through this and had to redraw him where the toner rubbed off and it didn't go so well.  I am hoping to slow down here in the next couple of days.

I colored Beetlejuice with Copics.  I really like to take my time when I color so I am just really disappointed with the way he turned out.  I stopped at Pat Catan's on my way home to see if I could find some cute snakes or worms to add to this but I couldn't find anything.  I had some paper that had heat embossed spiders on it so I cut some out and glued them on.  The ribbon is from Darice.  I thought it went well with his suit.  I may redo his head, cut it out and pop it on later.

Please head over to Simply B Stamps and see what the others have created.  We have some very talented ladies over there.  Thanks for stopping by.

Sweeney Todd

It is time for some more fabulous Burton Chibis from Simply B Stamps.  We have a week of previews and we are starting with the Demon Barber of Fleet Street...Sweeney Todd.  I think he really caputres Johnny Depp.  I must admit, I didn't see the movie yet.

I colored ST with Copics, cut him out and popped him up with SU dimensionals.  The background paper is from Authentique.  The ribbon is generic.  Please head over to SBS and see what the rest of the design team has created.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out my blog candy giveaway at the top of my blog.  Have a great day.

CC - Give Piece a Chance

Welcome to another Corrosive Challenge.  This month we are sponsored by the amazing Sassy Studio Designs od which I have the privilege of serving on the DT well as on Corrosive Challenges.  The current challenge is Give Piece a Chance.  We are asking you to paper piece (wooo hoo) on your project.

I started with this fabulous leprechaun from SSD.  I colored her with copics except for her hat and suit.  I used a freebie digital paper from DSE for her suit.  The strip on the right side is more of the DSE paper.  The beautiful background paper is from Doodle Panty.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the shamrock is from Darice.

I am pleased with the card but I must admit I procrastinated (again) and waited until the last minute to work on this.  I had a wonderful day with my 3 favorite little girls...Cortlynn, Cara & Sarah.  I have been blessed with lots of nieces and I just love spending time with them.  Their ages are 10, 7 & 6.  We spent the day together crafting.  I got them some cardboard houses and we decorated them with patterned paper and embellies.  They had so much fun and so did I.  It was worth putting my project on the back burner for a few hours.

Anyway, please head over to Corrosive Challenges and see what the rest of the design team has created and please join in.  Paper piecing is fun and gives a beautiful coherency to your projects.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

My First Doodle Pantry Post

I am so happy to announce that I am now on the Doodle Pantry design team!!!  Today we bring you the March New Release images.  I have Easter Birdie.  Doodle Pantry has the cutest birdies out there.  I believe I own all of them.  Even my watermark has one on it.  The Easter Birdie comes with the line drawing, a colored version, 2 digital papers and 4 sentiments.

I colored my little cutie with Copics.  I actually used 2 images cut up and layered to create him.  The colors I chose came from my handsome son Ferguson.
Isn't he a doll?!  He loves to try to steal my markers while I am coloring.  For the background I used the Easter Fun Digi Paper Pack.  I used a cuties floral die from Cheery Lynn Designs to make the flowers.  I added a little glitter glue here and there to finish off the card.  I hope you like it.

Please head over to Doodle Pantry to check out all the fabulous new images.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
