Stitch It Up

It's Dare to be Sassy Thursday again over at Sassy Studio Designs.  Our challenge this week is called Stitch it Up.  You must use stitches somewhere on your project.  I went with stitches on the image itself.  This fabulous image is one of my favorites from SSD and she is covered in stitches.  I guess that's what happens when your betrothed is Frankenstein.

Rainbow Bright

Today marks the beginning of another fabulous challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  The challenge is called Rainbow Bright and the rules are simple.  You just need to use your favorite color combo.  We are sponsored by the Oh So Amazing Kenny K.  I sure do love Kenny K images.  The Kenny K image I used is called Freshman.  Isn't she adorable?

I started by choosing my color combo.  Green is my birthstone and my favorite color.  My beautiful Amazon Sydney is green with a bright yellow neck.  She is just so beautiful so of course I went with green and yellow.  I colored my image with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I found this great  paper in my box-o'-scraps.  I thought it was so perfect for this card.  I wanted to keep it clean and simple so I added just a touch of ribbon and some SU buttons.

Green with Envy Blog Hop

Welcome to day 2 of the Sassy Studio Designs Green with Envy Blog Hop.  If you came here from the very talented (and also my sister) Robin's blog, you are in the right place.  This month we are doing things a little different.  The amazing artist and owner of SSD, Lindsay, has been having some computer trouble so we won't have any new images for you during this hop.  We will all be showcasing our favorite SSD images and you have a chance to win them all.  Each member of the DT will chose a random winner from their comments.  That winner will get the image showcased on that blog.  There will be one winner chosen from the SSD comments and they will win all of the showcased images.  We have a huge DT so that's a really big prize. The winners will be chosen Tuesday night and announced on Wednesday.

I had a hard time choosing an image so I let my niece, Becca, pick it.  She picked a great one.  This is Wednesday Addams.  I love her.  I tend to lean toward the darker images as does my niece.  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  We had to use the color green somewhere which is never a problem for me.  Not only is it my birthstone, but it is my favorite color.  

The house is Rickety House from Tim Holtz.  I used some core'dinations paper, cut it out and ran it through a paper crimper before sanding it.  The roof was put through a new Darice embossing folder.  I added a ghost in the attic and an dancing skeleton in the living room.  The background was done by sponging several Distress inks.  The grass was done using a Fiskars punch and the cobwebs were made last minute using a Q-tip.

Pink, Red & White

Hi everyone.  Today's Sassy Studio Designs Dare to be Sassy Thursday is all about Pink, Red & White.  I made this card for my friend's birthday.  She is 29...again!!!  I started with this fabulous image from SSD called Philippines Honey.  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I took some liberties with the image and removed the fan she had in her hand.  I replaced it with the sentiment.

I broke into my Anna Griffin stash for the background paper.  I do love Anna Griffin.  The red ribbon is leftover my niece's wedding.  The pink is generic ribbon I found while cleaning my studio.    I would say that I hope my friend likes it but I know the answer already.  Her birthday was the 12th and she loved it.

For My Mother

Hi everyone.  This week's Sassy Studio Designs Dare to be Sassy Thursday is all about hearts.  The challenge is to use at least one heart in your project.  I chose to dedicate a card to my mother.  Next week will mark the second anniversary of her passing and I still miss her like it happened yesterday.

I decided to use this image because my sister says it is the prettiest SSD image.  I used Copics to color the image and I fussy cut her out.  I made the wings by stamping Versamark on plastic and using white embossing powder.  I think she makes a beautiful angel.  

For the heart requirement, I embossed pearl shimmer paper with a heart Cuttlebug folder.  The border ribbon punch is from EK Success.  The ribbon is generic.  Behind the background is a piece of mirror paper and the base card is made of pearl shimmer paper.   The Thinking of You stamp is from Our Daily Bread.  I know I can't exactly mail this to my mother but I think she helped me make it.

HEARTS AND FLOWERS

Hi everyone.  This is going to be a very quick post.  I had a long day and can barely keep my little eyes open.  Corrosive Challenges is back with another challenge.  The new challenge is to use hearts and flowers.  I wanted to make something different so I went for this clean and simple card.  The image is Jacob Black from our amazing sponsor Sassy Studio Designs.  I got lucky and had a heart die that was made up of flowers so that covered both requirements.  It's called Serafina Heart by Memory Box.
