Firefighter Honey

Sassy Studio Designs has another Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge for you.  This challenge is a sketch challenge.  That means you have can take your time and enjoy making your card instead of stressing over what the layout should be.  Here is the sketch:

Isn't this a great layout?  It was created by our very own Kathy.  I don't usually follow a sketch, I just kind of wing it.  This was great!  I am going to do a lot more.  What a time saver.  I got to concentrate on the coloring which is my favorite part.

My image is called Firefighter Honey.  I have had her for a while and I am so glad I finally got to color her.  I have had the dalmation and fire hat brads for a year.  I got them at Adventures in Stamping last year and this year's convention is in just a couple of weeks.  I need to start using up what I bought last year so I can buy new things this year.  The background paper is from DCWV and the die I used is from QuicKutz.  It is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Please head over to SSD and see what the rest of the Design Team has created for your inspiration.  Then join in.  Thanks for stopping by.

Best Wishes to my Little Blantonator!

Welcome to another awesome Dare to be Sassy Thursday from Sassy Studio Designs.  Today is "Go for Broke Day".  It is time to break out all those special papers and expensive embellishments you have been hoarding and put them to good use.

I am using this awesome Sassy Fashionista called Chelsea's Prom.  Even though this is a prom image, I am using it as a wedding image.  My niece's wedding shower is next weekend and I thought this image had the same kind of attitude that she does.  She is so excited and can't wait to get married.

I colored Chelsea with Copics and cut her out.  I decided to make this a side step card.  I was dancing around YouTube to calm down after a long day at work when I came across a video from Jackie Topa showing a different take on a side step card.  She turned one side into a dresser.  I thought that was a great idea!  Way to think outside the box Jackie.  Since I was going for broke, I got out my stash of Anna Griffin paper.  I buy tons of it and never use it.  I just like to pull it out and look at it every once in a while.  The flower embellishment was cut from a piece of AG paper.  I used some rub n buff around the dresser and drawers.  I am sorry but I can't remember who made the brads I used for the drawer pulls and I didn't save the package.  I hope my little Blantonator likes her card.  It will say Best Wishes inside when I actually get the inside finished.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs to see what the other DT members have created.  We have lots of new designers.  You are going to love them.  But before you go, make sure you enter for a chance at my blog candy because today is the last day!!!  Good luck and thanks for stopping by.

CC - Give Piece a Chance

Welcome to another Corrosive Challenge.  This month we are sponsored by the amazing Sassy Studio Designs od which I have the privilege of serving on the DT well as on Corrosive Challenges.  The current challenge is Give Piece a Chance.  We are asking you to paper piece (wooo hoo) on your project.

I started with this fabulous leprechaun from SSD.  I colored her with copics except for her hat and suit.  I used a freebie digital paper from DSE for her suit.  The strip on the right side is more of the DSE paper.  The beautiful background paper is from Doodle Panty.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the shamrock is from Darice.

I am pleased with the card but I must admit I procrastinated (again) and waited until the last minute to work on this.  I had a wonderful day with my 3 favorite little girls...Cortlynn, Cara & Sarah.  I have been blessed with lots of nieces and I just love spending time with them.  Their ages are 10, 7 & 6.  We spent the day together crafting.  I got them some cardboard houses and we decorated them with patterned paper and embellies.  They had so much fun and so did I.  It was worth putting my project on the back burner for a few hours.

Anyway, please head over to Corrosive Challenges and see what the rest of the design team has created and please join in.  Paper piecing is fun and gives a beautiful coherency to your projects.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Tie One On with Sassy Studio Designs

Happy Friday everyone.  Sassy Studio Designs has another Fabulous Friday Freebie for you on Paper Craft Planet.  As you know, SSD gives away a sassy new image every Friday to all the followers on PCP.  The challenge today is Tie One On.  That means you have to tie something whether it be ribbon, twine, whatever.

I colored the image with Copics.  The stockings were there but I drew on the fishnets.  My sister was my inspiration for that.  Not the way you are thinking!  She had drawn some on one of her projects a few weeks ago.  I added glitter to the shoes and to the flourishes.  The background paper is from Stampin' Up!  I shaded the martini glass and added crystal effects to it for a more glassy look.  I absolutely love the way the olives turned out.  It is the little things that make me happy.

Please head over to PCP and get your freebie now.  It will only be available for 24 hours.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Wonder Regan

Welcome to another Sassy Studio Designs Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge.  Today's challenge is to use Kraft cardstock on your project.  For my project I chose Wonder Regan which is one of the new fan inspired images just released on Saturday.  She was named after the fan who suggested her which happened to be my good friend and fellow DT member Regan.  What a super idea.  I absolutely love this image.

I colored Wonder Regan with Copic markers and cut her out.  I added some Martha Stewart glitter glue (still have lots of issues with it but I am determined to use it up) for a little sparkle.  The base of my card is Kraft cardstock.  The rest of my papers are generic.  I found a wonderful pack of super hero die cuts from Creative Imaginations.  There were so many in the package that I have enough left for at least two scrapbook pages...score!  The clear star is from K&Co.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and check out what the other Design Team members created for your inspiration.  Then join in the challenge.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by.

SSD FAN-tastic Valentine Blog Hop

It is now time for the long awaited Sassy Studio Designs FAN-tastic Valentine Blog Hop.  If you came here from the amazing Wonder Regan's blog, you are on the right track.  If you started here, the full hop list is below so you can get back on track.  As you know, Sassy Studio Designs asked you, the FANS, what images you would like to see.  Everything you see during this hop was inspired by the FANS that suggested them.

I am happy to present Bonnie of the Nile.  This was suggested by...Bonnie of course.  I think this is my new all-time favorite SSD image.  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The mat behind her is metal and I ran it through my BigShot with and embossing folder.  The background paper is from Heart of Wisdom.  I love Egytian things.  This was so much fun.

Now down to business.  The theme of our FAN-tastic Valentine Blog Hop is "Who is your celebrity Valentine?"  We will tell you, then you tell us.  If you do, your name will go in the hopper for some free images.  All the details are on the SSD blog.  We will also give away images for commenting on our DT blogs.  Just leave us love as you hop, then tell us on SSD who your celebrity Valentine is.  We are also looking for a guest designer for next month.  Please enter your name on the SSD blog if you are interested.  You get free images, make new friends and have lots of fun.

 Here is my celebrity Valentine:

Yum, yum, yum.  For those of you who don't know him, this is Jared Padalecki from Supernatural.  He is hot, hot, hot!!!!  He also has a beautiful smile.  That is what initially caught my attention.  He is so cute when he smiles, you can't help but smile back.  I thought you might prefer seeing these pictures instead of his smile though.  I would ask you not to tell my hubby about him but he already knows.  Every weekend we watch Supernatural together.  He thinks it is funny as I am just a wee bit too old for Jared.

Your next stop on the hop is our guest designer for this month and also my sister (no nepotism here, I did not vote), Robin.  It is so much fun having her on the team this month.  Please head over and check out her Valentine.  One more thing before you go.  We will be having a Party Chat with the Design Team at 10:00 pm on SSD blog.  Join us won't you?  Here is the full hop order:

Winter Colors with SSD

Hello all!  Today at Sassy Studio Designs we challenge you to use Winter Colors...Blue, Purple, White and Silver.  When I think of winter colors, I automatically think of the Bride of Frankenstein.  What?  You don't?  I have had this image just hanging around for a very long time.  I was rushed tonight as I had my monthly craft club meeting.  Unfortunately, we voted to never craft again and just get together to eat...so sad for me.  Anyway, I had two cards to finish tonight so I grabbed this image and ran with it.   The colors didn't come out well in this picture.  My card base is purple and the designer paper is silver mirror paper.  It is so pretty in real life.  I love this paper.

Please check out what the other DT members created for this challenge.  I hope you join in.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Bottle it Up!

Hi everyone.  I would like you to meet Winter Wendy from Sassy Studio Designs.  She is available free to our Paper Craft Planet group members.  If you are a member, go grab her now.  If you are not, sign up and then you can have your very own!  SSD offers a new freebie every Friday on PCP.

Our FFF hostess, Miss Regan, has asked us to use Winter Wendy in a challenge called "Bottle it Up".  She wants us to use something that comes from a bottle on our projects.  I used Liquid Pearls and Viva Glitter Liner as my bottled items.  I colored Wendy with Copics and popped her up on dimensionals.  The designer paper is from Authentique and the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I am pretty sure my pearl brad is from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Thanks for supporting SSD on PCP and thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Card and Gift Set

Christmas is almost here and you never know when you will need a quick little gift for someone.  The Sassy Studio Designs Team has come up with a few "just in case" ideas for you.  Mine is very simple.  I made my card with this fabulous Mistletoe SSD image.  I colored her with Copics and popped her up on some festive Christmas paper.

Then I took some Hersheys Nuggets and covered them with the background paper.  I wrapped it all up in some plastic and added the same ribbon I used on the card so everything coordinated.

Please hop over to Sassy Studio Designs to see what the other Design Team members created and have a wonderful holiday season!!!

Alternative Christmas

Hi everyone.  Today at Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls we challenge you to create a project inspired by an alternative Christmas movie.  I chose Nightmare Before Christmas, for several reasons.  First, because it was the first movie I thought of.  Second, because it is my niece and namesake Becca's favorite movie of all time.  Third, because I have TONS of Nightmare Before Christmas.  And last, but not least, because I worked a craft show this weekend and got an order for it.

The fabulous image I am using is from Sassy Studio Designs.  Don't Jack and Sally look so happy together?  I colored them with Copics.  I cut Sally out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The holly background is perfect for them.  I double matted them with 8x10 white/black mats.  Now it is ready for framing.

Please hop over to BTBD and see what the rest of the Design Team has created for your inspiration.  Then play along, won't you?

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Thanksgiving

It is a color challenge at Sassy Studio Designs today.  Today we challenge you to use the colors of Thanksgiving in your project...brown for turkey, red for cranberries, white for potatoes and orange for pumpkins.  Easy peasy!!!  I used this fabulous Holiday Victorian image from SSD.  I was hoping to have my card double as a belated birthday card for Grandma JuJu.  She is a tough one to create for.  Our styles are totally different.  I hope she likes it.  I may or may not add a sentiment.  I haven't decided yet.

I colored this with Copics as usual.  I colored while watching Supernatural.  Probably not a such a bright idea.  I can't concentrate while watching Jared Padalecki.  I think it came out okay though.  I think you can do just about anything to an SSD image and it will still look beautiful.  Lindsay is quite a talented artist.  All her images are beautiful.

Please head over to SSD and see what the others have created for your inspiration.  Then join in.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Have a great Thanksgiving.

Giving Thanks

Good morning all.  It is time for another Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Freebie Friday on Paper Craft Planet.  Today, our fabulous hostess Miss Regan is giving away this beautiful image called Happy Thanksgiving.  As always, this freebie will only be available for 24 hours and only for the SSD followers.  Please head over there to get yours.  If you aren't a follower, head on over and become one.  We have a new freebie every Friday!

I colored my image with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The designer paper is also from SU.  The leaves are from Dress it Up.  I have tons of Dress it Up embellies.  I absolutely love them.  I just cut off the button hoo daddies on the back and attached them with glue dots.  The ribbon is satin and is from Darice.

Please head over to SSD on PCP and get your freebie.  Then head over to the SSD shop and see what other amazing images Lindsay has to offer.  She is awesome!  Her talent is endless.

SSD Holiday Honey Preview

Good morning.  Sassy Studio Designs has been previewing new images all week.  Today is my turn and I am proud to bring you Sleeping Beauty herself, Holiday Honey Aurora.

How beautiful is she?!  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The ribbon is from Darice, the poinsettia is from Martha Stewart.  The background is some awesome foil paper I found at Hollo's.  I am currently exploring the world of metal.  I ran it through my BigShot with a snowflake embossing folder.  I love the shine.

Saturday SSD will be hosting the Holiday Honey Blog Hop.  We will have awesome prizes, Christmas trivia and a party chat with the Design Team and other crafters around the globe.  I hope you will join us.

Fabulous Freebie Friday

Good morning everyone.  It is time for another Fabulous Freebie Friday with Sassy Studio Designs and Paper Craft Planet.  Today is Create a Scene and the Fabulous Freebie is Domestic Diva from SSD.

I colored my Domestic Diva with Copics, cut her out and popped up only the top half of her.  Don't you think she looks like Adrienne Maloof?  I have a confession to make.  I have a guilty pleasure and it is the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.  If you don't know Adrienne, she is one of the housewives.  From the moment I got this image I knew I wanted to color her hair like Adrienne's hair.  Her face is so similar I think.  Maybe it is just me.  This week's episode had Adrienne learning how to roast a chicken.  When Lisa told her to wash the chicken, she took it to the sink and washed it with hand soap.  Good thing she is rich and has a chef.

If you would like to have your own copy of this Domestic Diva, just hop over to the SSD group on PCP.  If you are a follower, you get her for free.  If you are not and you want her, just join us.  Once you are a follower, you can download her.  She will only be available for 24 hours so you better hurry.  Head on over there.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?

Today at Sassy Studio Designs we are doing your favorite movie for Dare to be Sassy Thursday.

My favorite movie is the Wizard of Oz.  You may be wondering why I chose Hermione Granger from Harry Potter for this assignment.  I will tell you.  I have the Wiz planned for next week so I decided to go with another movie I love which is Harry Potter.  I have read all the books and seen all the movies.  I am addicted.  I colored Hermione with Copics and popped her up.  I have to apologize to all of you for not putting enough effort into this.  I actually forgot I had an assignment and had to do this quickly.  I think from now on I will keep a list of what I have to do in my studio so I don't forget.

Please hop over to Sassy Studio Designs to see what the rest of the DT has done for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Welcome to another fabulous Hop from Sassy Studio Designs.  If you thought Halloween Hop I was fun, you will love Halloween Hop II.  I am proud to introduce you to Medusa.

When we got the list of images we were going to be working with this month, I immediately wanted Medusa.  I had all kinds of ideas in my head for her, none of which ended up on my project.  I was a little sidetracked while working on it.  We finally set up a new workstation in my studio.  It has been a work-in-progress for quite a while and now it is really starting to take shape.  I can't wait to get back in there and load it with my supplies.  I will put some pictures up as soon as it is completed.

SSD has a challenge for you today.  Create a Halloween project with 5 of the following items.  I highlighted the ones I used on mine.

1.Bats
2.Pumpkins
3.Ghosts
4.Ribbon
5.Glitter
6.Brads
7.Gems
8.Skeleton
9.Gravestone
10.Candy
11.Skull
12.Blood
13.Spider
14.Cauldron
15.Cobwebs

You have 5 days to complete the challenge.  The winner will receive 3 Halloween images from this release.  There will also be 2 random winners chosen from the comments left on the DT blogs so make sure you leave some love along the way.  There will also be a Party chat tonight at 10 PM Eastern if you would like to chat with the DT.  Just click the Party Blog flag at SSD.

MUMMY INVASION!!!

Good morning all.  Today I am proud to bring you Mummy Honey from Sassy Studio DesignsSSD is showing previews of our second Halloween release this year.  So many images, so much fun.

I used Reminisce paper and some really cool spiders from K&Co.  I colored with Copics, of course.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I just discovered them recently and they have some great stuff.

I am doing double-duty with this card.  Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls is doing projects inspired by Terry Gilliam.  I was not familiar with him before this challenge.  He has such a wide range.  I found an old animation online but forgot to save it.  It had a creepy Tim Burton quality to it but was also kind of fun and quirky.

Thanks for stopping by.

AUTUMN IS HERE

Hi everyone.  Today at Sassy Studio Designs we are challenging you to show us your Autumn Colors.  Summer is over and the leaves will be changing color soon.  I chose to show this using the beautiful SSD image Falling Leaves.  This was a freebie given to our followers on Paper Craft Planet.  If you haven't joined us yet, what are you waiting for?  Each Friday a beautiful SSD is given away!  We call it Fabulous Freebie Friday!

I colored my image with Copics.  The background paper is from Reminisce.  I know you have seen me use this paper before but I just love it and my fall color stash needs to be updated.  I made the leaf embellishments using a Shapeabilities die and some Distress Ink.  The ribbon is from Darice.  I am a Pat Catan's junkie (big craft chain in NE Ohio) and they are partners with Darice so they have tons of ribbon.

I love the way this came out.  She looks like she is having so much fun.  I have issues with being outside myself...bad allergies and asthma.  I spent all day Sunday outside and I am paying for it now.  I spent all of Wednesday in bed.  I am afraid I might be headed for bronchitis...again!

Oh well.  That's the way it goes.  I have one announcement before I close.  SSD will be previewing a new line very soon so keep checking back for details.

Thanks for stopping by.
