Happy Birthday Jeffrey!

Here is a quick post to say happy birthday to an old friend.  My 8 year old junior bestie Sarah picked the image for her uncle.  She knew she wanted someone playing air guitar.  I have not had the pleasure of watching Jeff play but look forward to seeing it in the future.

The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  You can always find something great at Mo's.  I colored him with Copics, cut him out and popped him up with SU dimensionals.  The stars were made using Spellbinders dies.  I kept it simple since men usually don't like all the foo foo stuff.  I hope Jeff likes it.  Today is his birthday but Sarah won't be giving it to him until the end of the month when she sees him.  No worries though, I am positive he doesn't check my blog.

Happy Birthday Bailey Bug Boggs

Hi everyone.  Today I am back with another challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  Our current challenge theme is Cute and Creepy.  Our sponsor is the awesome Dilly Beans and I decided this would be the perfect chance to make my great niece Bailey's birthday card so here it is.

I used Isabella Fairy from Dilly Beans as the focal image for this card.  Even though my little Bailey Bug is only turning 5, she already has a style and I think I have totally captured it...CUTE & CREEPY.  Her mother is a huge Tim Burton fan and loves Nightmare Before Christmas.  She has passed her loves on to Bailey.  Her birthday is November 1st and she wants to have a Halloween themed party.  She picked out a Frankenweenie cake.  She just loves that kind of stuff.  Here is a picture of Bailey last Halloween.

Isn't she a doll?  Now back to business.  I colored Isabella with Copics, cut her out and popped her up on SU dimensionals, except the wings.  I taped those behind her for more dimension.  All the solid pink paper was done by using a Copic marker so it would match Isabella's hair.  The main background paper is from Bo Bunny.  The others were from my box-o'-scraps.  The sentiment and the punches used for it are all from SU.  

Robin and Bianca came over today.  Robin worked on one of her cards while I worked on this one.  We had a great time.  Bianca, not so much.  She had to clean out the bird cages today.  The birds appreciated it very much as did I.

Happy Birthday Rhonda Sue!

Hi everyone.  I am back with another fabulous challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  Our current challenge is Mother, Maiden, Crone...all you have to do is make a project containing a woman.  We are sponsored by Delicious Doodles, one of my absolute favorite companies.  I was provided with this amazing image called Angelique.  Isn't she gorgeous!!!  I decided she was perfect for my little sister's birthday.  She is totally Rhonda's style.  I hope I remember to mail it.  I actually still have my sister Robin's card from last year that I never gave her.  We laughed about it a few days ago on her birthday.  I did actually did give her a card this year though.  Rhonda's birthday isn't for a few weeks so for once, I am ahead.

I colored Angelique with Copics.  She is popped up on SU dimensionals.  I added some glitter glue to her wings, eye shadow & jewelry.  She used to have a snowflake by her hair but I messed it up so I added a circle with a gem piece from Prima to cover it up.  The background paper is from Paper Pizazz.  The ribbon is leftover from a party favor kit I bought last year.  The green and orange paper was colored with Copics so it would match the coloring on the image.  I did the corners with my corner chomper.

Here Comes Fall

I feel like I have been gone forever, but I am back now with another great challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  We are getting ready for fall and would like you to join us.  For this challenge, all you need to do is make a fall themed project.  Simple right?  We are sponsored by Meljen's Designs and I was given this adorable Pumpkin Crow image to create a little inspiration for you.

I used Copics to color it.  I cut it out and popped it up with SU dimensionals.  I stained the paper behind the image with some coffee and then ran it through my paper crimper.  The designer paper is from Authentique.  The orange paper actually wasn't that orange so I colored it with a Copic marker to match the pumpkin.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I used to be in their monthly ribbon club but had to drop out for a while.  I am trying to save some pennies where I can.  Christmas will be here before you know it and I have great neices and a great nephew to spoil.  That makes me sound really old doesn't it?!

It's Only A Number

Today is a fabulous joint hop between our Corrosive Challenges team and the wonderful team over at Sassy Studio Designs.  I am so happy to be back with my former sassy sisters.  Lindsay from SSD has created some amazing new images for us to use in our blog hop.  If you came here from the oh-so-sassy Adina(SSD) , you are on the right track.  Here is my card using Velma.

We were asked to create a birthday project using the new SSD 80s images, in honor of our fearless leader Regan who is about to turn 40, I mean 29.  We also had to have numbers on it somewhere.  I made this card for my niece Cortlynn.  She will be 12 in December and she loves Scooby Doo so I wrote the number 12 on Velma's book.  When Cortlynn was little and spent the night, she would make me turn on a Scooby Doo movie to watch while she fell asleep.  If she woke up and the movie was off, she would wake me up and say "more doo please."  It was adorable but really got to me after the 4th or 5th time she did it.

Aloha everyone.  I am back to announce another fabulous challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  Our new challenge is Fancy Folds and we are sponsored by the amazing Mayzy Art.  I chose to make a side step card.  Although I did color the image with Copics, I sort of cheated on the rest of the card.  I must admit that I did not make any of the embellishments.  My sister and I hung out in Archiver's today while my niece, who turned 16 today, and her girlfriend were shopping in the mall.  I ended up purchasing all of the embellishments there.

Shape Up with Corrosive Challenges and SBS

Hi everyone.  I am back with another Corrosive Challenges challenge.  We are sponsored by the oh-so-amazing Simply B Stamps.  SBS is near and dear to my heart.  The challenge is to do a shaped card.  Betty was kind enough to give me this awesome image called Graveyard Gretchen.  Thanks Betty.  I love this image!!

I made this with my sister-in-law in mind.  She is having lots of trouble with my brother and unfortunately they have decided to divorce.  I think she is very brave for finally making this decision as it was long overdue.  This is kind of a little joke for her.  I hope she doesn't get offended but knowing her, she will get a kick out of it.  

I colored Graveyard Gretchen with Copics, fussy cut her and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I am afraid I didn't do much to the background but add a white line and a black bow.  I wanted it simple.  Plus I have had company for a week and we have been very busy.  My niece and her husband came to visit and brought a little baby in her belly.  She is due in November.  I am so happy for them.

Animal Antics

It's time for some Animal Antics with Corrosive Challenges.  All you have to do for the challenge is to use an animal in your project.  For this challenge we are sponsored by QKR Stampede.  They gave me this adorable little koala bear for the challenge.

I colored him with Copics.  It came out a little darker than I expected but I have an excuse.  My cable has been out for a few days.  They came by to fix it today and I got so excited that I decided to make up for lost time.  Unfortunately, I was paying more attention to the TV than to my coloring.  It is such a cute image though so it would be hard to really ruin it.

Simply Fairy

Hi everyone.  I feel like I haven't posted in forever!  This beautiful fairy was a freebie on the Simply Betty Facebook page.  All you had to do to get it was be a member of the group, request it & enter it in the SBS challenge.  Easy right?  Not if you are the princess of procrastination like me.  I am cutting it right down to the wire on this one.  I have had a crazy few weeks but I was able to get it done. 

I colored her with Copics, fussy cut and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  There is some glossy accent here and there along with some glitter glue.  The papers are from Authentique.  The challenge was to use orange, yellow, white and black.

FRAME IT WITH DILLY BEANS

Welcome to another Corrosive Challenges challenge.  This challenge is sponsored by Dilly Beans.  Our challenge is called I've Been Framed.  We were asked to incorporate a frame in our project.  Dilly Beans has some amazing images that already have frames around them.  This one was a lot of fun to color.  I used Copics, of course.  I cut it out and popped it up with SU dimensionals.  I went super simple with the rest of the card.  I used a Darice embossing folder for the background and all the paper used here is from my box-o'-scraps.  I just love it when I can use up my scraps.  

I finished this card yesterday after I got home from Amish Country.  It was my birthday and my husband and his parents took me to celebrate.  We had a great time.  I got some great cast iron loaf pans from my mother-in-law and a 14 inch cast iron pizza pan from my husband.  My beautiful birds got me a lovely card and two boxes of candy.  I am diabetic and overweight yet my husband always has them give me candy.  Oh Bill!

My Sentiments Exactly

Happy Mother's Day everyone.  Today begins a new Corrosive Challenges challenge...My Sentiments Exactly.  We ask that you add a sentiment to the front of your project.  We are sponsored by the oh so funny and talented Graphicat Designs.  Head over there, the sentiments are fabulous.

For my card I used this awesome image from Rubbernecker Stamps.  I have had it for ages but haven't used it.  I thought the new sentiment from Graphicat went great with it.  My hands were shaking when I took the picture so if you are having trouble reading it it says "When We Are Together, We Are Way COOLER Than Everyone Else!"  Perfect for the image huh?  I used Copics to color the image and I popped it up with SU dimensionals.  The sentiment was cut out with an EK Success punch.

I finished this card after going to dinner with my husband, sister and niece.  We had a great time.  My sister and I have both been sick for weeks and we could finally taste and smell so we went out for Mother's Day.  I just wish my kids could have gone.  Unfortunately, the public doesn't think my feathered babies are real children but I know better.

From Your Little Devil

It is time for another Corrosive Challenges challenge.  This time we are celebrating Mother's Day.  The challenge is to make a Mother's Day project or a project for a special lady in your life.  Our sponsor is the amazing All That Scraps.  They provided me with the cute little devil image.

I decided to make a card for my great niece to give to her mother.   Bailey is 4.  I made her a card for her mother last year and Bailey was so excited to give it to her.  The inside of this card will say "From Your Little Devil".  It would have said Happy Mother's Day on the front but I couldn't find my stamp so I used a rub-on instead.  I am going to mail this to Bailey.  I wish I could be there to see her give it to her mom.  I just love her little smile.

Life's Special Moments

It's time for another Corrosive Challenges challenge.  This fortnight it is all about life's special moments.  Our sponsor is the amazing A Day for Daisies.  When choosing my image from ADFD, I found this clown.  It reminded me of the harlequin clowns my brother used to collect when he was in his teens and twenties.

I colored the image with Copics.  I drew the diamonds on his pants to make them a little more like the ones I remember my brother having.  Next, I cut him out and popped him up with SU dimensionals.  For the background, I sprayed some cardstock with walnut spray.  Then I stenciled some modeling paste I colored with ink on top.  It didn't quite come out the way I planned but I like it.  Someday I will learn not to wait until the last minute to do my project.  The circles and the ovals were done using EK Success punches.
