My Sentiments Exactly

Happy Mother's Day everyone.  Today begins a new Corrosive Challenges challenge...My Sentiments Exactly.  We ask that you add a sentiment to the front of your project.  We are sponsored by the oh so funny and talented Graphicat Designs.  Head over there, the sentiments are fabulous.

For my card I used this awesome image from Rubbernecker Stamps.  I have had it for ages but haven't used it.  I thought the new sentiment from Graphicat went great with it.  My hands were shaking when I took the picture so if you are having trouble reading it it says "When We Are Together, We Are Way COOLER Than Everyone Else!"  Perfect for the image huh?  I used Copics to color the image and I popped it up with SU dimensionals.  The sentiment was cut out with an EK Success punch.

I finished this card after going to dinner with my husband, sister and niece.  We had a great time.  My sister and I have both been sick for weeks and we could finally taste and smell so we went out for Mother's Day.  I just wish my kids could have gone.  Unfortunately, the public doesn't think my feathered babies are real children but I know better.

Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and see what everyone else has made for your inspiration and join us in the fun. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

From Your Little Devil

It is time for another Corrosive Challenges challenge.  This time we are celebrating Mother's Day.  The challenge is to make a Mother's Day project or a project for a special lady in your life.  Our sponsor is the amazing All That Scraps.  They provided me with the cute little devil image.

I decided to make a card for my great niece to give to her mother.   Bailey is 4.  I made her a card for her mother last year and Bailey was so excited to give it to her.  The inside of this card will say "From Your Little Devil".  It would have said Happy Mother's Day on the front but I couldn't find my stamp so I used a rub-on instead.  I am going to mail this to Bailey.  I wish I could be there to see her give it to her mom.  I just love her little smile.

Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and see what the rest of the design team has created for you.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Life's Special Moments

It's time for another Corrosive Challenges challenge.  This fortnight it is all about life's special moments.  Our sponsor is the amazing A Day for Daisies.  When choosing my image from ADFD, I found this clown.  It reminded me of the harlequin clowns my brother used to collect when he was in his teens and twenties.

I colored the image with Copics.  I drew the diamonds on his pants to make them a little more like the ones I remember my brother having.  Next, I cut him out and popped him up with SU dimensionals.  For the background, I sprayed some cardstock with walnut spray.  Then I stenciled some modeling paste I colored with ink on top.  It didn't quite come out the way I planned but I like it.  Someday I will learn not to wait until the last minute to do my project.  The circles and the ovals were done using EK Success punches.

Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and check out what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Blog Candy Time!!!!

It's BLOG CANDY TIME!!!!!!  Hello everyone.  I was cleaning my studio and found a bunch of duplicates and started thinking...who could I give these to?  The answer of course was YOU!  What do you have to do to get these lovely goodies you ask.  It's easy.  All you have to do is:

1.  Be or become a Follower.
2.  Leave me a comment on this post as your entry.
3.  Post this on your blog with a link back to me - it can go on your sidebar.
(now comes the tricky part)
4.  Follow my sister Robin too.
5.  Leave another comment saying you followed Robin.

Simple right?    Leaving a comment that you are a follower counts as one entry and leaving a comment that you followed Robin will give you a second entry.  What can I say, she helps me out a lot and I wanted to give her something she didn't already have.  This post will remain at the top of my blog until the end of March at which time I will draw the winner.  Good luck.

Feeling Funny (and Sad)

It is Dare to be Sassy Thursday once again at Sassy Studio Designs.  The new challenge this week is Feeling  Funny.  We ask that you use a funny or sarcastic sentiment on your project.  Even though this challenge is meant to be funny, it is sad for me.  This is my last post as a member of the SSD design team.  :(.

I colored Glinda with Copics and glitter glue. I tried to make this card match my last two Oz cards.  I used the same style and the same Graphic 45 papers.  I only have two more Oz cards to finish and then I will have a matching set of five.  I think it is going to make a perfect gift for someone.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and see what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  It has been such an amazing experience for me and I will miss working with the team.  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.  Have a great day.

Paper Piecing with SSD

It's Dare to be Sassy Thursday again.  That means another great challenge from Sassy Studio Designs.  This week we are paper piecing.  Typically, paper piecing would be done on the image itself.  With this gorgeous witch, I couldn't really figure out how to paper piece her dress and make it show up so I went a little outside of the box.  I cut bricks out of yellow glitter paper, distressed the edges and paper pieced my own yellow brick road.  It looks so good in person.

I colored the Wicked Witch with Copics and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The papers are from Graphic 45, except for the glitter paper.  I wanted this card to match my last Oz the Great and Powerful card.  I just love these new SSD images from the movie.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and see what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Welcome to my second post of the day and another fabulous Corrosive Challenges challenge.  This time we are Just Dancing with our awesome sponsor Mayzy Art.  You won't want to miss this one.  Who wouldn't love 5 amazing Mayzy Art images?  All you have to do to enter is create a dance themed project.

Obviously, I am using Frankenstein and the Mummy.  I wanted to do something different that a typical dance card and the Monster Mash just popped in my head.  My sister, Robin, said this card made her smile.  That made me smile.  I colored them with Copics and popped these bad boys up on SU dimensionals.  The mirror ball was made with phone gem strips.

Please head over to Corrosive Challenges for all the rules and check out what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration and then Just Dance.

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

This is day 2 of the Sassy Studio Designs Follow the Yellow Brick Road release.  If you arrived here from the awesome Valou's blog, you are on the right track.  I am so pleased to bring you the fabulous Theodora.  Isn't she great?!   I colored her with Copics and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I added her trademark fireball made out of multiple glitters.  The papers are from Graphic 45.  I love the Oz collection.  I bought the 12x12 pack and the 6x6 pack and the memory book kit...oh and the stamps that went with it.

I love the Wizard of Oz.  It has been my favorite for as long as I can remember.  I have tons of Oz collectibles.  My sister and I took all the little girls in our lives to see the new Oz last weekend.  We all had a great time.  We spent the morning crafting, then saw the move, then went for Chinese.  I am trying to bribe all my nieces so one of them will take care on me when I get old.

Now back to business.  The design team will each get to pick a comment and award that person with the image they are showcasing.  The winners will be drawn on Tuesday.  Be sure to leave love for everyone as you hop along.   You next stop is the oh-so-talented Kathy's blog.  Here is the complete list if you got lost along the way.

Seeing Green

Welcome to another fabulous Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge from Sassy Studio Designs.  Today we are Seeing Green.  The challenge is to make a St. Patrick's Day card or just a green card.  Green is my favorite color so this one was great for me.

I started with this amazing SSD image called Sassy Miranda.  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I pulled my green St. Patty's paper out of my box-o'-scraps.   I tried a sketch (which I hardly ever do) from Simon Says Stamps.  I am terrible with sketches but I think I did fine with my interpretation.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and see what the rest of the design team did for your inspiration.  Don't forget to check out my blog candy at the top of the blog.  Thanks for stopping by.

I've entered these challenges:

Going Green

It's Dare to be Sassy Thursday once again at Sassy Studio Designs.  Today we are Going Green.  The challenge is to use recycled materials on your project.  I am using kraft cardstock made from recycled paper.  The ribbon is from some party favors.  I needed to use a different color than the one that came with them.  I have tons and tons left over.

This card is for Jillian.  My friend's grandson wanted a card for his girlfriend's birthday.  He picked out the image and wanted her name on the front.  I had a totally different plan for this card when I started but it didn't work.  I hope Jillian likes it.

Please head over to SSD and check out what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

All that Glitters

Hi all.  Welcome to another fabulous challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  This challenge is called All That Glitters, so obviously you need to use glitter.  Our sponsor for this challenge is the wonderfully talented Rick St. Dennis.  He graciously provided the design team with amazing images to work with.  I am using Esmeralda the Fortune Teller.

I colored Esmeralda with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I added three kinds of glitter to my project.  The fringe on her clothes has glitter pen details and some glitter glue.  The crystal ball has glitter glue on it and some micro beads above.  The sides of the card has sticky strip with super fine glitter burnished into it.  There is also glitter on her necklace beads.  I kept the card simple as to not distract from the image.

Please head over to CC and check out what the rest of the design team has done with Rick's amazing images.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

It's Dare to be Sassy Thursday again over at Sassy Studio Designs.  Our challenge this week is called Stitch it Up.  You must use stitches somewhere on your project.  I went with stitches on the image itself.  This fabulous image is one of my favorites from SSD and she is covered in stitches.  I guess that's what happens when your betrothed is Frankenstein.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and check out what the rest of the design team has done for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Also, I have some yummy blog candy above if you are interested.

Rainbow Bright

Today marks the beginning of another fabulous challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  The challenge is called Rainbow Bright and the rules are simple.  You just need to use your favorite color combo.  We are sponsored by the Oh So Amazing Kenny K.  I sure do love Kenny K images.  The Kenny K image I used is called Freshman.  Isn't she adorable?

I started by choosing my color combo.  Green is my birthstone and my favorite color.  My beautiful Amazon Sydney is green with a bright yellow neck.  She is just so beautiful so of course I went with green and yellow.  I colored my image with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I found this great  paper in my box-o'-scraps.  I thought it was so perfect for this card.  I wanted to keep it clean and simple so I added just a touch of ribbon and some SU buttons.

Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and play along with us.  I also have some blog candy if you are interested at the top of my blog.  Thanks for stopping by.

Challenges I have entered:

Green with Envy Blog Hop

Welcome to day 2 of the Sassy Studio Designs Green with Envy Blog Hop.  If you came here from the very talented (and also my sister) Robin's blog, you are in the right place.  This month we are doing things a little different.  The amazing artist and owner of SSD, Lindsay, has been having some computer trouble so we won't have any new images for you during this hop.  We will all be showcasing our favorite SSD images and you have a chance to win them all.  Each member of the DT will chose a random winner from their comments.  That winner will get the image showcased on that blog.  There will be one winner chosen from the SSD comments and they will win all of the showcased images.  We have a huge DT so that's a really big prize. The winners will be chosen Tuesday night and announced on Wednesday.

I had a hard time choosing an image so I let my niece, Becca, pick it.  She picked a great one.  This is Wednesday Addams.  I love her.  I tend to lean toward the darker images as does my niece.  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  We had to use the color green somewhere which is never a problem for me.  Not only is it my birthstone, but it is my favorite color.

The house is Rickety House from Tim Holtz.  I used some core'dinations paper, cut it out and ran it through a paper crimper before sanding it.  The roof was put through a new Darice embossing folder.  I added a ghost in the attic and an dancing skeleton in the living room.  The background was done by sponging several Distress inks.  The grass was done using a Fiskars punch and the cobwebs were made last minute using a Q-tip.

I hope you all had a great hop.  Now don't forget to head back to SSD and leave your comment.  I also have some blog candy posted at the top of my blog if anyone is interested.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
