Welcome to Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls RRR33

For those of you who loved The Burtonesque Dolls, we now bring you Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls.  This new blog gives the feel of Tim Burton but doesn't limit us to just the world of Tim Burton.  Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls will hopefully introduce you to authors, artists, directors and more that you may not have heard of in the past.  Expanding beyond gives us more options for challenges and helps us expand our horizons.

Our first challenge is Halloween.  We ask you to create a Halloween project based on your favorite Halloween movie.  Here is mine:

Can you guess my movie?  I will tell you in a minute.  This amazing image is called Devil May Care and is from Delicious Doodles.  I have had it for a while, waiting for the right challenge to use it for and here it is.  I colored my devil with Copics.  I popped up his horns, hands and pitchfork for added drama.  The spiderweb and bats were made with my MS punches.  The ribbon is from Darice.  The designer paper is from Reminisce.

Did you figure out my movie yet?  The name of the movie is Legend.  In this movie the devil is played by Tim Curry.  I thought this image looked just like Tim did in the movie.  I made this with Miss Claudette in mind.  She loves this movie.  I thought it was ok but Tom Cruise is in it and I am not a fan.  I do remember watching this with Claudette several times.  It was fun to watch her watch the movie.  I haven't seen her in a long time and this was my way of keeping her close.

Now it is your turn.  Make sure you check out Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls and join in the fun.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by.

New Release...Sad News

Jude

Brittany

Lily

Ariel

Simply Betty Stamps has decided to surprise everyone with an unexpected early release of Jude and the Rockers Fall Collection.  All the fabulous Jude and the Rockers characters are back and having so much fun with fall.

Unfortunately, there is also some sad news to add.  Here it is in her own words.

I was hoping that this release would be on track for Monday as usual, with a preview then a release on Tuesday. However, many times we are faced with challenges and are at times forced to take a different route and make changes accordingly.

My son Christian 17, has had a sore throat for about a month now. The first doctor said it was tonsillitis's. Seven days of Amoxocillin was administered. Two days after the last pill, he was sick again, with a sore throat, and a fever. Back we went to put him on Caphlex... again seven days of antibiotics. On the fourth day he was not improving so we took him back. Ok it's strep now. They kept him on Caphlex but gave him a booster shot. Three full days of starting to get better, he was able to eat again, drink, and talk. He fell sick again on the fourth day, this time they took a culture and sent it to the lab. Monday I got a call that I needed to take Christian in to a specialist, well not just any specialist an Oncologist to go over his culture with me. That appointment was for today Friday, I have of course been stressed the whole time, day after day. When one is not given test results over the phone, one does not worry. When we are asked to come in to discuss the results something is up. The last thing I ever imagined, was to hear the doctor tell me that my 17 year old son has throat cancer. The first question out of my mouth was, "Is my son going to die?" I still can't believe I mustered enough energy to roll those words out of my mouth.

Christian has Stage 1 throat cancer, he will not die from it, but of course they can't ever say to me 100% no he is not going to die. That 99% that he is going to survive it, still puts a mother on edge. My son needs an operation immediately. We have had a series of bad luck, like everyone else due to financial situations. Our brand new Nissan broke down, no problem we will fix it when we fix it. Our house needs minor repairs, again no big deal it will get fixed when it gets fixed. My son needs an operation that will help him get well and be the class clown, kind hearted, silly kid he is... Now there's a problem! We can't just fix it when we fix it and let it sit. He will be going through testing for a week, as he has expressed his "bones" hurting as well. Doctors would like us to move quickly on the operation to prevent any further stages or other unpleasant issues. We live 1 1/2 hours away from the hospital, and you can imagine I do not want to be far from my son. I am not asking for a hand out, or pan handling is that the word? I am willing to offer my products at discounted rates in the hope that it will bring in what is going to be needed in the next week or two while we go through the motions. There are always extra medical bills as the insurance doesn't cover anyone 100%, we have a co-pay but have no idea where to pull it from, we don't have a magic top hat :(. I am not asking again, for a hand me down, just asking that if you ever wanted a Simply Betty Stamp, your purchase would be a blessing at this moment.

Thank you for taking the time to read and cross your fingers my son gets better.
The entire line is now available in both Digi and Clear stamp form, I am sorry I do not have extra discount codes on these as I am trying to bring in what is needed for my son's medical needs. However, I have lowered the prices and hope it is fair what I am asking for these fun cute characters.

Betty

This special Little Betty is also now available in digi, as usual if you purchase all digis or all clear stamps in the Jude and the Rockers Fall line she is yours free, but you can also purchase her on her own.

Please keep Betty and Chistian in your prayers.

Thanks for stopping by.

AUTUMN IS HERE

Hi everyone.  Today at Sassy Studio Designs we are challenging you to show us your Autumn Colors.  Summer is over and the leaves will be changing color soon.  I chose to show this using the beautiful SSD image Falling Leaves.  This was a freebie given to our followers on Paper Craft Planet.  If you haven't joined us yet, what are you waiting for?  Each Friday a beautiful SSD is given away!  We call it Fabulous Freebie Friday!

I colored my image with Copics.  The background paper is from Reminisce.  I know you have seen me use this paper before but I just love it and my fall color stash needs to be updated.  I made the leaf embellishments using a Shapeabilities die and some Distress Ink.  The ribbon is from Darice.  I am a Pat Catan's junkie (big craft chain in NE Ohio) and they are partners with Darice so they have tons of ribbon.

I love the way this came out.  She looks like she is having so much fun.  I have issues with being outside myself...bad allergies and asthma.  I spent all day Sunday outside and I am paying for it now.  I spent all of Wednesday in bed.  I am afraid I might be headed for bronchitis...again!

Oh well.  That's the way it goes.  I have one announcement before I close.  SSD will be previewing a new line very soon so keep checking back for details.

Thanks for stopping by.

BURTON CHIBIS RELEASE DAY

Can you believe Burton Chibis Release Day is already here.  Today Simply Betty Stamps brings you the last three images in this Tim Burton inspired collection.

Edward Scissorhands

Miss Betty Burton

I don't have a sample for the third so you will have to hop over to Simply Betty Stamps to find out who it is.  I will give you a hint...Chocolate.

I was a bad girl and didn't refill my Copics so I ended up doing a lot of dry coloring on these samples.  I think they came out okay considering how dry my markers were.  I will be refilling them tomorrow.  I used designer paper from the Paper Studio and Bo Bunny.  I believe that is where the stripes came from.  I got that paper out of my box-o-scraps.  It still isn't empty but I am trying.  The ribbon is from Darice and the awesome skull key is from Jolee.  I am so in love with these keys!!!  I went back and bought more.

The entire Burton Chibis line is available starting today at SBS.  Betty has some great deals for you.  Please check them out.  These images are available in clear stamps or you can get the digis for one week only so you better hurry if you want digis.  Betty will be picking 3 random winners from the DT blog comments so check us all out and leave some love along the way.

Thanks for stopping by.

We have Burton Chibis!

Good morning all.  Simply Betty Stamps has another fabulous line to preview today.  How lucky are we?!  This one is called the Burton Chibis.  Of course they are based on Tim Burton movies.  SBS has had soooooooo many new lines for us this year.  Amazing!  Today is the first of a two day preview so here they are:

First Mr. Jack Skellington himself

And you can't have Jack without Sally

And next we have Victor

And Victor needs his Corpse Bride

I must admit I got a little heavy handed with the Copics on the Corpse Bride.  If you know me I have a habit of procrastinating.  I had a craft show today and of course I waited until the last minute to color my images.  Here is a picture of me coloring at my craft booth during the show today.  This picture was taken by my friend Barbie.

I should have paid closer attention to what I was doing.  I can't sell, chat with my friends and color all at the same time.  But anyway, I had a great time.  Most of the papers I used were from Reminisce.  I seem to be on a kick with them lately.  I enjoy their vibrant colors.  All the ribbons I used were from Darice.  I only used two punches today and both were from Martha Stewart, the cobweb border and the bat.  The moths/butterflies on the Corpse Bride card were actually part of Darice ribbon.  I just cut them out of the middle of the ribbon.  I also made a ribbon flower for her.  The center is a resin rose from Pizzaz Aplenty.

These images along with the rest of the SBS release tomorrow will be available in clear stamps.  Betty will also have a one week special where you can get these bad boys in Digi!  Now you don't think Betty would leave it at that do you? She will also have prizes.  Check out all the details at SBS and don't forget to comment on the DT blogs.  Betty likes to choose a winner at random from those comments.

Steampunk Halloween at SBS

It's a Steampunk Halloween over at Simply Betty Stamps today....and tomorrow!  Today we bring you the first four images of the new Steampunk Halloween line.  This will be the last Halloween line from SBS this year.  Now don't get sad.   Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before you know it.  Here are my creations:

Draco the Ghost Gent

Jacob the Werewolf
(sorry Bianca...no Taylor Lautner here)

Gillian

Vampiress Bella

Aren't these images awesome!  Some of my shadows didn't show up in the pictures.  I am going to ask Santa for a new camera.  I hope he comes through for me.  I used a variety of papers.  Mostly Reminisce, KCG (I think) & Anna Griffin.  I used a die from Marianne Designs and one from Cuttlebug.  Punches are from Tonic and EK.

Betty, the Queen of Halloween, will be offering these stamps in rubber only starting tomorrow...but, if you comment on all the DT blogs you will have a chance to win a digi of one of these great images.  All the details are posted on SBS.  Make sure you comment everywhere.  She will be picking 4 winners.  Good luck and Happy Haunting.

FALL IS IN THE AIR

Today is Fabulous Freebie Friday for Sassy Studio Designs on Paper Craft Planet.  Our theme for this week is Fall is in the Air.  This beautiful image is available for all followers today.  Just head over there and get your own image.  I colored mine with Copics.  The leaf paper is from Reminisce.  I used an embossing folder on the green paper along with a little SU ink.  My fall stash is very limited.  I was glad I at least had the leaf paper.  As usual, my yellow-naped Amazon Sydney helped me with this card.  She ripped paper until she wore herself out.

Make sure you head over to PCP and get your image while it is available.  Thanks for stopping by.

Sassy French Maid

It is preview day 2 at Sassy Studio Designs.  Today is my turn and I am happy to present the French Maid.  She is just one of the many new images coming up in the first of 2 Halloween releases.  There will also be a Halloween Hop on September 17th.  I can't wait.  It is going to be so much fun.  Hope to see you there.

FYI...my husband loved this image.

HALLOWEEN ZOMBIE INVASION

It is time for another FABULOUS release from Simply Betty Stamps.  This time it's Zombies!!!  Here are the first three:

Trick or Treatin' Miller

Fairy Princess Rio

Spider Queen London

Aren't these just creepy and awesome?  I colored them all with Copics. I am going to have to work on coloring bones though.  They show through here and there. I tried to add greens & purples to the skin but I don't think you can see it too well in the pictures.  These were so much fun to work with.  Betty never disappoints! There will be more tomorrow so please come back.

Thanks for stopping by.

Black, White and Whatever You Want

We have another great challenge for you at 2 Sisters Challenge.  This time it is all about black and white....and one other color of your choice.  Sounds easy right?  Well for me it was.  I was given this beautiful image from Pattie's Creations which is one of our sponsors this week.  The other sponsor is Glitterbabe.  I thought this image was perfect.  Since the vase is a top hat, black was taken care of.   I made this card for my sister Robin's birthday (which is today) and she likes red with black and white so I was set.  I colored the image with Copics.

The red cardstock is generic as is the black, except for around the image.  That was from the infamous box-o'-scraps but I can't remember which company it was from.  I know I promised to be on top of this from now on but since this was existing in the box I am giving myself some slack.  Organization for me must be done in baby steps.  The brads and sentiment are from SU.   I ran the white through my Big Shot with an embossing folder.  I love the way it came out.

This challenge fell on the perfect day.  Robin won't get to see this post until her actual birthday.  Happy Birthday Robin.  Notice that I didn't call you that name you hate?  Robin is new to papercrafting and just started her own blog.  Please hop over to Robin's Reflections and give her a little encouragement.

Also, please hop over to 2 Sisters Challenge and check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the design team.  And don't forget to enter!

Thanks for stopping by.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!!!

Hi everyone and welcome to another Dare to be Sassy Thursday!  This week's Sassy Studio Designs Challenge is the 4Bs...buttons, bows, brads & bling!!!!   I have chosen to use the SSD Tinkerbell Honey.  She is soooo stinkin' cute.  I replaced her wings with glitter coated acetate.  Word to the wise, glitter cracks off the acetate after it dries.

My little friend Sarah is turning 6 and she asked for a Tinkerbell card.  I offered this little girl invitations, cupcakes with puppy faces on them, party favors, a chocolate dessert table and whatever else she wanted.  She said no thank you.  I just want you to make me a Tinkerbell card.  What a kid!!!

Now for my Bs.  My Bow is from my scraps, my Buttons are cute little flowers, my Brads on are opposite corners & my Bling is green gems by the flowers.  I hope you like it.  More importantly, I hope Sarah likes it.  Please pop over to SSD and join in the challenge.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Additional items used:  Fiskars grass border punch, Hero Arts cloud stamp, SU ink, baker's twine & SU scalloped punch.

Thanks for stopping by.
