Corrosive Challenge #154 - Cheeky, Saucy or Sassy

Hi.  I have had such a long day today and I am completely exhausted but I wanted to post this before I head off to bed.  This Corrosive Challenges challenge is being sponsored by Graphicat, home of the best sentiments around.  Our challenge is called Cheeky, Saucy or Sassy.  Your project must have a sentiment that is cheeky, saucy or sassy.

My niece is having a baby and she loves Gothic and funny things.  I decided to make her a card for the new baby.  I saw this sentiment called 333HalfEvil and I had to use it.  It is just her type of humor.  The image is from Smeared Ink.  I wanted to add bloody and gory things to this card but figured I shouldn't push my luck.  Pregnant women can be a bit hormonal and I didn't want to offend her.  Normally, she would laugh but not sure right now.  She tends to be up and down with her emotions right now.

I colored my Baby of the Damned with Copics and popped him up with SU dimensionals.  The paper is from The Immortal Love Collection from DCWV.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I thought the pattern on the ribbon was perfect for this paper.  The die cuts are Spellbinders and I distressed them with some Distress Ink.  I hope my niece loves this as much as I do.  Like I said before, it is very much her style.

Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and check out what the rest of the Design Team did for your inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by.

It's a Small World After All

Welcome to the Sassy Studio Designs It's a Small World After All Blog Hop.  If you arrived here from the Oh So Talented  Regan , you are on the right track.  I am so happy to share this awesome Russia Honey image.  Isn't she beautiful?  Sassy Studio Designs images are just so much fun to color.  This is one of the few times I didn't fussy cut my image out.  I won a set of Spellbinders dies and I wanted to try them out then added some distressing around the image.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the Thank You stamp and banner die are from Stampin' Up.  The background paper is digital and I am sorry but I can't remember the company.  The layout is a sketch from Simon Says.

We have a challenge to go along with this hop. The challenge is to hop along with us, get your coffee because it's a long one, and then make a card of your own showcasing your favorite country.  The prize will be ALL 6 new images!  There are a couple of rules though.  You must use a Sassy Studio Designs image and you only have one week enter.  The winner will not be chosen randomly.  The Design Team will vote and the winner will be announced on July 31st.

We will also have 2 random comment winners from the Design Team blogs.  Those winners will receive 1 of the new images.  Which one will be up to the winner.  These winners will also be announced on July 31st.

I have one more thing to tell you before you hop off.  We are going to have a party chat with the Design Team right here at 7:00 pm Pacific, 10:00 pm Eastern time.  Just click the Party Chat link on the top of the SSD blog.  Now hop off and have a great time.  Your next stop is the Amazing Rachelle.  If you get lost along the way, here is the entire hop list.

Denim Barbie

It is Fabulous Freebie Friday at Sassy Studio Designs once again.  Each week, SSD gives away a free image to all the SSD followers on Paper Craft Planet.  Today's image is called Denim Debbie.  I am calling her Denim Barbie because she really reminds me of a Barbie.  Our challenge is to use this dress as inspiration.

I colored my Barbie doll with Copics, fussy cut her and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I colored her last night with the intent to make a floral background by stamping today.  Well, I got a surprise in the mail today.  I won some goodies and they showed up today and this paper was part of it.  The paper is Paisley Road by Prima and I thought it went beautifully, so I used it instead of making my own.  I used the back of the pink ribbon.  The pattern on it was a bit much for the card.  I really feel like I channeled the Barbie of my childhood.  The only part I am not happy with is the green vest.  I went for a vest look and now it just looks odd.

I may send it to one of my nieces.  Cortlynn could use a pick-me-up and would love it.  I better put a pop-up inside though.  She loves them.

Challenges I am entering:

Really Reasonable Ribbon #52 - Sizzlin' summer colors and ribbon
Digital Tuesday #169 - All tied up
Papertake Weekly - All things girlie
Crafts and Me #93 - Ribbon and bow
Frosted Designs - Patterned paper
One Stitch at a Time #122 - Anything goes

Please head over to the Sassy Studio Designs group on Paper Craft Planet to get your freebie.  Hurry, you only have 24 hours to get it.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hola from Mexico!!!

It is the last day of previews at Sassy Studio Designs before the big release.  Our trip around the world has taken us south of the border to Mexico.  Isn't she adorable?  I was having trouble deciding what to do with this one.  I wanted to do something restaurantish (I know it isn't a real word).  I asked my sister and she said what about Mexican tile.  So I decided to actually tile the background.

I started with a tea bag square, lined it up and printed it out twice.  On the first page I put my "grout".  I completely covered it with modeling paste.  Then I cut out the tiles from the second page.  I used the modeling paste just like grout and pushed my tiles into it.  I let it dry and then covered each tile with Glossy Accents.  This was a trial run.  I like it but it came out a bit messy but at least I will be prepared for next time.  I did enjoy the process.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and check out what the other designers have done with Mexico Honey.  Then come back tomorrow.  We will be having a fabulous release party and you will have an opportunity to win all 6 images from this week.

Challenges I have entered:

Oozak - Bright colors
Order of the Opus #135 - Where did you get that suntan? (Mexico)
Crazy Amigo - Free theme
Papertake Weekly - All things girlie
Divas by Design #44 - Anything goes
Digi Doodle Shop #117 - Anything goes
The Poodles Parlour - Use a digi

Return to the Dark Side

It has been quite a while since I made a card just because I wanted to make one.  And even longer since I made one a bit dark.  My sister told me there was a Gothic challenge going on at Craft Your Passion and I have been wanting to use this image for a while.  I got the image from Delicious Doodles and it is called Goth Guy.  It reminds me of Laurent from Twilight.  My background papers are from The Immortal Love collection by DCWV.  I don't know if you can see it very well but I also used my MS Drippy Goo punch around the image.

Even though this is a simple layout, I really like the way it came out.  I usually spend at least an hour and a half coloring my image.  The artist drew tons of shading already which made it go a lot faster. I cut the image and popped it up on SU dimensionals. I hope you all like it.

I am entering into these challenges:

Craft Your Passion - Gone Gothic
Simon Says Stamp - Layered
Party Time Tuesday #76 - Let's get punchy?
Joyful Stamper - Anything goes
The Poodles Parlour - Use a digi stamp
Stampalot - What's your crafty passion?
That Craft Place - Anything goes

Reading Rachel from SSD

It is Friday again and you know what that means.  We have another great Sassy Studio Designs freebie for you over at Paper Craft Planet.  As you know, each week SSD gives away a freebie to all the PCP followers.  Today we have Reading Rachel and the challenge is to use RR on a bookmark.

I colored RR with Copics (pay no attention to the spot on the right that I didn't color brown) and used a Stampin' Up die to cut her out.  I distressed the edges with Peeled Paint from Ranger.  I added it to a piece of pattern paper from my Box-O'-Scraps.  The tab punch is from Spellbinders and the ribbon is a leftover from my nieces wedding.  I never throw anything away.  I also added an eyelet.  I wanted to give my bookmark some strength so I covered it with Glossy Accents.  It still needs another coat though I think.  Perhaps I should have just laminated it but I don't have the machine to do that...hint, hint to my family.

Please head over to the Sassy Studio Designs Paper Craft Planet group and check out the Fabulous Freebie Friday post and get your free image and check out what the rest of the Design Team has created.  And here's a little teaser for you...we have a new release coming up and previews start on the 15th.  Make sure you watch the Sassy Studio Designs blog so you don't miss any.

These are the challenges I'm entering:

The Poodles Parlour - Use a digi
Fairy Tale #45 - Bookmarks
By The Cute And Girly - A Day At The......(sofa with a good book)
Oozak - Bright Colors
Stampalot - What's your crafty passion
My Mum's Craft Shop #65 - No Cards Allowed

Sentimentally Yours

Welcome to another fabulous Corrosive Challenges challenge.  This challenge is called Sentimentally Yours.  You guessed it, you must have a sentiment on your project.  We are sponsored this month by Graphicat Designs.  There are so many wonderful sentiments at Graphicat but I knew immediately which one I wanted to use.  The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie.

I colored my shoe with Copics to start out with and then covered it in glitter.  Snazzy right?  The designer papers are from Graphic 45.  As soon as these papers were in stock at my local Archiver's I ran right over and bought them.  The ribbon is left over from my niece's wedding.

Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and see what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  Then play along.

Here is another super cutie from the July Doodle Pantry release.  This is Hot Air Balloon Birdie.  I tried to keep this one simple and sweet.  I am going to send it to my great niece, Bailey.  She is 3.  I am going to put some parrot feathers from my birds inside it.  She loves my birds.  I left my Amazon Sydney at home the last time I went to see Bailey and the first thing she said to me was "Where's the green bird?"  She wasn't happy when I told her Sydney wasn't there.

This image comes with both line drawing and colored version plus sentiments and 2 digital papers.    There are also many other adorable new releases this month.  Please head over to Doodle Pantry and check them out.

Magazine Margie

Hello everyone.  I want to thank all of you that watched my video and left me comments.  It was my first one and I was a bit nervous.  Now, back to business.  Today is Fabulous Freebie Friday from Sassy Studio Designs.  This week's image is called Magazine Margie and the challenge is to make a bookmark.  I would actually call this one a bookmark/tag.

I started with Magazine Margie and colored her with Copics.  I knew someone would actually be using this bookmark/tag so I wanted to make sure it was flat enough.  That about killed me because I love to pop up the images on my projects.  I can't remember the last time I didn't pop something up.  After coloring I decided to turn this into a scene.  I cut out a mask and covered MM up.  Then I sponged and stamped the background.  I really like how it came out.

Please head over to the SSD group on Paper Craft Planet to get your very own free copy of Magazine Margie and join in the challenge.  I had a great time and I hope you do too!  And don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team created for your inspiration.  They are all amazing!

I'm entering into the following challenges:

Pop-Up Tutorial

Hi everyone.  I just wanted to show you all how I made my Sassy Studio Designs Sex & the City pop-up cards.  This is my first video.  I am not sure why it looks so small on the screen.  I will have to do some research on that.  I hope you like it.

Welcome to another Doodle Pantry Challenge.  There is an exciting twist this month.  DP always has a free download for anyone who enters but this month, you get the download first.  Awesome right?!

Here is Tiny Triceratops

So stinkin' cute right? I wanted to make this card CAS since my last CAS card really pushed the limits.  This is my attempt at redemption. I colored my darling little dino with Copic markers, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals. I went with plain paper for the background but added some texture with an embossing folder. The sentiment comes with this little cutie and the die cut behind it was made with a Spellbinders die. Clean and Simple and adorable!

Please head over to the Doodle Pantry Challenge Blog to get your own Tiny Triceratops for free. Then join in the fun. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Also check out the new releases and specials. All the details are posted on the blog.
