WICKED GIRLY

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Penny's Paper Crafty.  The challenge is "One for the Girls".  I used the new SSD image Maleficent.  Isn't she cool?!  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The wings are my favorite part.  I stamped versamark ink on some plastic and covered it with Ranger holographic embossing powder.  I was afraid the heat gun would melt the plastic.  I was so happy that it didn't.

The green background was embossed with a brand new Anna Griffin folder.  I just love Anna Griffin.  My goal is to use some of the AG papers I have been hoarding this year.  This isn't her paper but at least it was embossed in one of her patterns.  The ribbon is from my stash.  It was left over from a funeral arrangement I received when my mother passed.  I think she would love how I used it.  The flowers are from Petaloo.

Just so you know, I am about ready to post my blog candy so please check back in a few days if you are interested.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day.

Going Forward...Looking Back

Welcome to the blog hop for the first Sassy Studio Designs release of 2013.  We are Going Forward with new images and Looking Back at things we loved in 2012.  We have 2 days of hopping fun for you, today and tomorrow.  You should have arrived  here from the Super Sassy Tanya's blog.  If not, the complete list is at the bottom of this post.  My image is Ursula.  She is one of my favorite characters.  We were asked to use one or more of the following in our project:

Favorite Sassy saying or sentiment
Favorite tool
Favorite paper
Favorite sketch
Favorite technique
Favorite style
Favorite color
Favorite brand
Favorite embellishment....ribbon, flower, bling, mesh etc...

I chose my favorite paper by Anna Griffin.  I worship her but tend to mostly hoard the papers.  I really should start using them more often.  I also used my favorite technique which is to use chipboard and UTEE to make the frame.  After adding several layers of UTEE, I reheated it and stamped it for texture.  I also used another of my favorites, glossy accents, on Ursula's body.  And my absolute favorite thing...Copic markers.

We were also asked to share our favorite SSD project from 2012.  Mine would have to be Cleopatra.

I had so much fun coloring her!!!!

Two randomly selected comments will be picked each day to win 2 images, and there will be 1 randomly selected winner each day of the hop to win all 4 images.  These will be picked from comments left through out the hop.  To be eligible to win you must comment on each blog for that day and comment on the SSD blog.  So please leave us all a little love as you hop along.  Also, remember to head back to the SSD blog tomorrow for Day2!

Here is the entire hop list in case you got lost along the way:

Fairyland

It is time for another Corrosive Challenges challenge.  This fortnight, the challenge is "Put a Pin in it".  We are sponsored by A&T Digi Designs. I am using 3 of A&T's amazing fairies.  We were given a choice but I couldn't decide between them so I used them all for this canvas.

My inspiration for this was my great niece Zoe and a layout done by Diane from ArtOfCraftNZ.  She did a beautiful layout of a meadow with her granddaughter in it.  My intent was to make Zoe a flower in the middle of this fairyland but it didn't work out so I went with butterflies instead.

I started with a 12x12 canvas and a piece of light blue paper.  I used so many things on this.  Here is a list:

K&Co Butterflies
Crystal stick pins (the butterflies antennae)
Tons of acrylic paint
Several Distress inks
Several Adirondak inks
Several different embossing powders including Frantage & Distress
Flower stamps (can't remember the brand)
Glass bead gel
Glue dots
Crystal lacquer
Gesso
Sanding block
Fiskars grass punch

I wanted this to be fun and I hope I achieved that.  I am just sorry little Zoe never made it on the page.  I had too much fun coloring the fairies with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy Birthday Cathy

Hi.  Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Glitter n Sparkle.  The challenge is to use a sentiment.  That is something I don't always do.  This card is for my friend Cathy who just joined the 45 year old club with the rest of our group.  We all had a lovely lunch at Olive Garden.  I tried to channel my inner Cathy and she likes things clean and simple.

I started with this awesome image from Sassy Studio Designs.  I colored it with Copics, cut it out and popped it up with SU dimensionals.  I added glossy accents to the mug and some liquid applique for the foam.  Cathy got a kick out of the liquid applique.  The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread. I made the circles using Spellbinders dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.

Sparkle and Snowflakes

Hi everyone.  Sassy Studio Designs is currently sponsoring Love to Create and the challenge is Sparkle and Snowflakes, two of my favorite things.  My inspiration for this card was my niece Grace.  Her birthday is coming up and she just loves Marilyn.

I colored this amazing Marilyn Monroe image from SSD with Copics.  I fussy cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I added glitter glue to her dress for sparkle.  I also added it to her jewelry.  I used glass effects on her jewelry and her shoes.

The snowflake paper is one of my favorites.  I have some left over so I have been using it on everything.  The  ribbon is generic.  The snowflakes were made using a Martha Stewart punch.  After punching, I used Versamark ink and embossed them with a sparkly white.

I hope Grace likes it and I hope you do too.  Please check in again as I will be having some blog candy in a few weeks.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Princess Leia

Hi everyone.  Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring C.R.A.F.T. Challenge.  It is a color challenge this time.  Here is the inspiration picture:

I thought the colors were perfect for this outer space background so of course I had to use Princess Leia from Sassy Studio Designs.  Here is another angle.  The sentiment is on the inside of the card.  I stamped it with white embossing powder.

I colored Leia with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I added some glitter glue to her belt and glass effects to her boots.  I Googled outer space images and got the great background.  The border punch is from EK and the twine is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Out with the Old

Hi everyone.  Happy New Year!  This is the first Corrosive Challenges challenge for 2013.  Our challenge is Out with the Old.  We are asking you to use up some of your old stash.  We are sponsored  by Simply B Stamps.  I was fortunate enough to have served on the SBS Design Team and I enjoyed working with all of Betty's fabulous images.  Betty was very generous and gave each member of the CC team an SBS image.  My awesome image is Waitress Betty.

I have been working on cleaning and organizing my studio for several days now.  As I was cleaning, I hit the jackpot.  I was able to find this amazing designer paper from Oriental Trading I forgot I bought.  It has retro kitchen items on it and was part of an entire retro food set.  I also found this super cute ribbon and even the blue distress ink I used was in a box of old things I had forgotten about.  My stash has grown by leaps and bounds since I started cleaning.  I had craft supplies hidden all over the house.

I am going to send this card to my sister Rhonda.  She complained that my Christmas card to her was too plain and she hated it.  She said it was as if I threw it together at the last minute (which I did).  I spent a lot of time coloring this one so I hope she likes it.  She is not one to hold back so I will definitely be told if it isn't good enough.

Speaking of sisters, my other sister Robin came over today.  She brought her daughter and we played games all day and tried a couple of new crafting techniques.  We had a great time.  We even spent some time watching others craft on YouTube   I plan on doing some more videos and I like to see how others have set up their cameras.

I better get off here.  We have a fire going and hubby wants to snuggle and watch TV.   Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and see what the rest of the design team has done for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
