FAVORITE CHRISTMAS CARDS
Here's a new blog candy. A Scrapjourney has some blog candy with a twist. The twist is to show your favorite five Christmas cards of 2012.
So here are my five favorites.
Hope you have enjoyed visiting me this year and continue to visit in 2013.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
&
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Merry Christmas Eve
Merry Christmas Eve everyone. Today, Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring The Crazy Challenge. The challenge is Easel Cards. I will admit, this is my first easel card. Now that I have made it, I know what to do differently. I made the inside piece to long. I should have made it much shorter.
This is the new Snowman Pin Up image from Sassy Studio Designs. Isn't she adorable. I made this card for my mother-in-law. I hope she likes it. I colored the image with Copics, cut it out and popped it up with SU dimensionals. I used a Martha Stewart punch on the inside piece. I used some glitter glue on the scarf, hat and boots. I also used glass effects here and there.
This is my favorite part. When I was a preteen, I did a lot of wax stamping. I still enjoy doing it so I thought I would start adding it to my cards. Typically, I use it to seal my envelopes. I have no idea what happened to all the wax stamps I had when I was young. I wish I had them all back. The "S" that I used here not only stands for snow but it is my MIL's initial.
Please head over to SSD and to The Crazy Challenge. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day and a very Merry Christmas.

Happy Birthday Cortlynn
Hi everyone. Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Tuesday Alchemy. The challenge is :Anything Goes". I am using my card for a very special occasion. My lovely little red headed niece Cortlynn is turning 11 on the 13th and this is her birthday card. I started with this great SSD image. I immediately thought of graffiti. I found a great graffiti font right HERE. I love it. It was exactly what I wanted for this card.
I used Copics on the image, cut it out and popped it up. The sentiment is also popped up The black with white polka dot lines are washi tape. I added a little glitter glue here and there. Cortlynn loves sparkle. I hope she has an amazing birthday.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.

The Greatest Gift
I am so glad it is Friday. It has been a long week hasn't it? Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring several challenges. I made this card combining two of them. The first challenge is Chocolate, Coffee and Cards and their challenge is a recipe...1 ribbon, 2 DPs and 3 flowers. The second challenge is Brown Sugar Challenges "You Have Me In Stitches". I added the stitches to the ribbon and at the bottom of the card. I used a floral border punch to make my 3 flowers. I also added a gem to the middle of each flower.
The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I am in their ribbon of the month club. This ribbon just came yesterday. It was a beautiful pack this month. The base of the card is just plain white cardstock and I ran it through my Big Shot with a snowflake embossing folder. The gorgeous image is from SSD, of course, and I colored her with Copics. I cut her out and popped her up on SU dimensionals. I also added glitter glue to her bow. I used a Martha Stewart punch on the sides of the DP.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.

Here Comes the Bride
Hi everyone. I just wanted to say how lucky we all are in this crazy crafting blog world. I have been going through a rough time lately and I have received so much support from everyone. Thank you all so much. Today, Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring two great challenges. The first is Card Mania. Their challenge is Weddings and I am happy to say that I am a guest designer for them with my take on a dark wedding. We are also sponsoring The Crafty Bloggers Network. Their challenge is Anything Goes so this card works for them as well.
Crating has always been a stress reliever for me but lately, even crafting has failed me. However, I am really happy with the way this one came out. I almost zoned out while creating this and it was really a good feeling. I colored my SSD bride with Copics, cut her out and popped her up on SU dimensionals. I drew the fishnets on with a liner pen. The shoes have a touch of glossy accents on them. The paper is from my box-o'-scraps. The ribbon that you can barely see is from my nieces wedding. The black pieces are a from Irene's papers -n- things. It is a large flower and I cut it in half. I attached it with some Helmar 450 glue.
My inspiration for this card was my niece Becca. This is the type of thing she loves. I got her approval on it yesterday. Thanks Becca. Speaking of nieces, this weekend was one of the best I have had in ages. I got to spend it with two of my nieces. I spent Saturday with Bianca and Sunday with Kennedie. I love them both it was such a treat for me to spend time with them. Thanks girls.
Thanks for stopping by.

Anything Goes at Corrosive Challenges
Welcome to another Corrosive Challenges challenge. We are sponsored by the fabulous A Day For Daisies. Right now, ADFD is giving away this adorable image called Snowman Scott. How great is that?! Our challenge is Anything Goes. When I saw this little cutie I knew I definitely wanted to do one thing to it and that was to give him a belly button. I just felt like he needed one. Don't you agree?
I colored Snowman Scott with a few Copics. I also added some glitter glue. I cut him out and popped him up with SU dimensionals. I used my MS drippy goo punch for the snow/icicles. I also used some MS snow glitter to the icicles. I wanted to keep this clean and simple to match the snowman.
Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and check out what the rest of the design team has done for your inspiration and then check out ADFD to get your own free snowman.
Thanks for stopping by.

Make a Scene
Welcome to another Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Freebie Friday. Today's challenge is called "Make a Scene". SSD gives away a free image every Friday on Paper Craft Planet. Today we have background images for you. I am using the underwater scene. I paired it with this beautiful mermaid. I colored everything with Copics. I added some glitter glue on the bubbles and a little on her tail. I cut the mermaid out and popped her up with some SU dimensionals. I spent a bit of time putting sun beams coming into the water and it ended up covering them up. I didn't like the mermaid just loose in the scene. I felt like she really needed to be matted.
I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving today. I spent the day with my in-laws. Then my husband and I spent the evening playing with our beautiful feathered babies. They are so amazing. I swear they knew it was Thursday today. Ferguson (my blue and gold Macaw) kept telling me to go to work. I kept telling him it was a holiday but he wouldn't stop telling me to go to work. He is so funny.
Please head over to the Sassy Studio Designs Paper Craft Planet group to get your free image. Thanks so much for stopping by.

The Joy of Giving Release
Thanksgiving is almost upon us and that means Christmas is right around the corner. Sassy Studio Designs is releasing some amazing new Christmas images. This lovely lady is called Santa Pinup. I absolutely love this image. I wish I looked like this. I have blond hair and I love green but that's about it.
The challenge we were given was Vintage Shabby Chic. My first thought was no bright colors, which is a hard one for me. I LOVE bright colors. My next thought was green as it is my favorite color. When I think about something shabby I think of an old rickety fence so I used a fence punch on the brown paper. I colored Santa with Copics, cut her out and popped her up on SU dimensionals. I used distress ink on all the papers. The lovely gems are from some fabulous blog candy I received from Kim. She sent me some really wonderful things. Thanks Kim.
For this release SSD is not doing a blog hop. But that doesn't mean we don't have prizes. Make sure you head over to Sassy Studio Designs and check out all the details. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Immortal Love
Welcome to another Fabulous Freebie Friday from Sassy Studio Designs. Today, SSD is offering this image called Immortal Love for FREE! Just head over to our Paper Craft Planet group and get your very own.
I used Copics to do the coloring, cut it out and popped it up on SU dimensionals. The designer paper is from DCWV's Immortal Love collection. The challenge is Sparkle. The paper had sparkle on it already and the cardstock has shimmer. I added some stripes of glitter in the corners.
Word to the wise, when you want to put glitter on Edward, make sure you grab the right one. I wasn't paying attention to the tube I grabbed and I am not so happy with the result but I am sure a true Twihard won't care which glitter I used.
Please head over to PCP and get this image before it is gone. You only have 24 hours. Make sure you find your way to the main SSD blog. We have a release happening this weekend. You won't want to miss.
Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing day.

Flutter By
Welcome to another great Corrosive Challenges challenge. This fortnight challenge is Flutter By. You must use something with wings in your project. We are sponsored by A Day for Daisies. I used this adorable bird. As you know, my husband and I have 5 parrots. My husband has recently decided he wanted an outdoor bird family as well. He started with just a few feeders and is well on his way to being obsessed. He even takes our parrots over to the window to watch the wild birds eat. I was inspired by our new family of birds when I made this card.
Masculine is not my forte but I gave it a whirl. I wanted to go as natural as I could for this. I used Copics, SU dimensionals, burlap, distress inks, and some Tattered Angles spray. It didn't come out the way I planned but I hope my hubby likes it anyway. He is so cute. He is so happy when he watches the birds at the feeders and worries if they aren't there when he gets home from work.
Please check out A Day for Daisies and then head over to Corrosive Challenges and check out what the rest of the design team created. And join in the challenge won't you?

I Know What You Are
It's Fabulous Freebie Friday again and just in time for the epic finale of Twilight. Sassy Studio Designs is bringing you this fabulous image for FREE!!!! Can you believe it?! As you know, SSD gives away a free image every Friday on Paper Craft Planet. Today's free image is Edward and Bella. The challenge for today is Make it Sparkle. You can use glitter, bling or whatever to add some sparkle to your project.
I used glitter paper. I have to say that this picture does not do the paper justice. It is an icy blue. Very soft and so sparkly. I colored the image with Copics, cut it out and popped it up on SU dimensionals. The paper is from my box-o'-scraps as is the ribbon. I cut out the sentiment with an EK Success punch. I also distressed all the edges with some Distress Ink.
Please head over to the Sassy Studio Designs PCP group and get your own free copy of this great image called I Know What You Are. If you aren't a member yet, please join. We just celebrated getting our 800th member this weekend.

Fifty Shades of Gray
If you arrived here from the amazing Erin's blog, you are on the right track. It feels good to be back. I have been off for a few weeks due to my work schedule. I finally had a chance to breathe and do some crafting. So welcome to the Sassy Studio Designs Fifty Shades of Gray hop. SSD has hit 800 members on Paper Craft Planet. Can you believe it?! It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating 700 members. We have an amazing hop with this new 50 Shades image for you today. We also have a challenge for you to make a card using only...you guessed it, shades of gray. The image can be colored if you wish.
Here is mine. I used Copics on the image and did a simple layout. The designer paper is from Anna Griffin. I thought about saying my home-girl Anna Griffin but I don't think I can pull that off. The main cardstock has some great texture and shine to it. I didn't want to lose any of that so I just cut out one row of the dp to run down the middle. Then I popped her up on SU Dimensionals and added some studs in the corners.
We have some great prizes if you join in the challenge. Two randomly chosen comments will win two images of their choice. The grand prize, chosen by the DT, will be ALL the images released in November and a guest designer spot for Fabulous Freebie Friday on PCP. We also have a randomly chosen challenge prize of two images from the November release. Anyone that uses the freebie image for the challenge will get Lingerie Lindsay
e-mailed to them for free as well.

SSD Hop
Welcome everyone to day 2 of the Sassy Studio Designs Halloween release. If you have arrived here from the spectacular Rina your in the right place. If not head back to SSD and start the hop there.
Lindsay has done a fabulous job once again. Are you just loving these images! I was fortunate to get the Vampire Slayer. Buffy is one of my sister's (Rhonda) favorite shows of all time.
This month's release comes with many prizes too. Leave a comment on each blog and there will be a drawing for a lucky winner to receive a prize. Then there's the Bingo contest you've been reading about. Make a card by choosing one of the lines in the card and link up to the SSD blog. Here is the card:
I chose the diagonal line with spider web, tombstone, free space (bones), ghost and blood.
To color my image I used Copics of course. The tombstone comes from Dress Me Up. The blood border punch is Martha Stewart as are the ghosts. The papers are from Making Memories and my stash.
My nieces wanted to play along too and so I am happy to show you Cara's card.
She did the Vampire Slayer also. She and her sister Cortlynn are becoming quite the crafters. You can see her blog here. They both love to get comments so hop on over and give them some love too.
Next on your hop is the magnificent Jackie! Don't forget to leave comments for your chance to win. In case you get lost, here is an entire list of the hop. Have fun!
