Spaghetti Anyone?

It is Preview Day #3 for the Teen Scene Kitchen Fun line from Simply Betty Stamps.  I love these images.  This is Spaghetti Christian.  As soon as I saw this one I knew I wanted to use this background.  It just reminds me of an old fashioned spaghetti place from my childhood.

I colored Spaghetti Christian with Copics.  I used an EK border punch.  The ribbon is from Darice.  I added the piece of black paper behind the main piece because it needed some pop.  I hope that did the trick.  The spaghetti looks so yummy.  I am a pasta junkie.  I am also a chef junkie.  I love so many of them.  I am one in my fantasy world.  But then again, I am also dating Jared Padalecki in my fantasy world.  My husband doesn't mind.

Please head over to SBS and check out what the rest of the Design Team has done.  We have an awesome group of ladies.

Thanks for stopping by.

Rocky Horror

Hi everyone.  It is time for another Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls Challenge.  The Challenge is Repo the Genetic Opera vs The Rocky Horror Picture Show.  I think from my card you can tell which way I went.  Since I have only seen Rocky Horror, I couldn't do Repo justice.

My image is from Smeared Ink.  It was the closest thing I had to Rocky Horror.  I made the lips background with clipart lips.  I turned the stockings into fishnets with a Copic marker.  The border punch is Drippy Goo from Martha Stewart.  I must admit this is my favorite border punch.  I use it all the time.

Please head over to Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls to see what the rest of the Design Team has created for your inspiration.  Then please join in won't you?  I would love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cupcakes ala Lola

Welcome back for the second preview day of the Teen Scene Kitchen Fun line from Simply Betty Stamps.  Today we bring you Cupcake Lola.  I love this image.  I have tons of nieces and Cupcake Lola reminds me of all of them.  I love to bake and tried to share that with my nieces (and nephew, I didn't forget you Frank).  They always had that nervous proud look on their faces when they presented their creations.  So sweet.

I colored Lola with Copics.  The used a deco corner punch for around the image and mat.  The candle border punch is from EK as is the corner punch I used.  The designer paper is from SU.  The purple ribbon is from Darice.  I have built up quite a ribbon collection now so you will be seeing lots more ribbon from me in the future.

I also have a confession to make.  I planned on spending the entire Thanksgiving weekend finishing my studio.  The weekend is now over and I haven't done a thing in the studio yet.  I feel very guilty but I did have a lovely weekend except for Sunday.  I caught the plague and spent all day Sunday in bed.  I am feeling much better now.  Hope you all had a great weekend.

Please head over to SBS and see what the rest of the design team has created.  Thanks for stopping by.

Teen Scene Kitchen Fun

Hi everyone.  I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving.  Today is the first day of the last Simply Betty Stamps release for 2011.  This new line is called Teen Scene Kitchen Fun.  Today we bring you Baking Betty.  Isn't she a cutie pie?!

I colored Baking Betty with Copics.  I used a bunch of Darice papers and ribbon for this card.  Obviously, I was really feeling pink and green today.  I know I didn't go in a very holiday direction.  I just felt like I needed some bright colors.  I do love bright colors.

I went to the tree lighting and fireworks in downtown Cleveland last night.  I really don't like big crowds but I had a great time.  I went with my friend, her daughter and Bianca.  We walked all over the place.  They actually had a food truck that was serving frog legs.  Sarah went with a hotdog instead.  I don't blame her.  We aren't frog leg kind of girls.  The fireworks were loud but beautiful.  We have decided to make it our new Christmas tradition.

Please head over to SBS and check out what the rest of the design team has created.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Thanksgiving

It is a color challenge at Sassy Studio Designs today.  Today we challenge you to use the colors of Thanksgiving in your project...brown for turkey, red for cranberries, white for potatoes and orange for pumpkins.  Easy peasy!!!  I used this fabulous Holiday Victorian image from SSD.  I was hoping to have my card double as a belated birthday card for Grandma JuJu.  She is a tough one to create for.  Our styles are totally different.  I hope she likes it.  I may or may not add a sentiment.  I haven't decided yet.

I colored this with Copics as usual.  I colored while watching Supernatural.  Probably not a such a bright idea.  I can't concentrate while watching Jared Padalecki.  I think it came out okay though.  I think you can do just about anything to an SSD image and it will still look beautiful.  Lindsay is quite a talented artist.  All her images are beautiful.

Please head over to SSD and see what the others have created for your inspiration.  Then join in.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Have a great Thanksgiving.

Thanks for stopping by.

Giving Thanks

Good morning all.  It is time for another Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Freebie Friday on Paper Craft Planet.  Today, our fabulous hostess Miss Regan is giving away this beautiful image called Happy Thanksgiving.  As always, this freebie will only be available for 24 hours and only for the SSD followers.  Please head over there to get yours.  If you aren't a follower, head on over and become one.  We have a new freebie every Friday!

I colored my image with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The designer paper is also from SU.  The leaves are from Dress it Up.  I have tons of Dress it Up embellies.  I absolutely love them.  I just cut off the button hoo daddies on the back and attached them with glue dots.  The ribbon is satin and is from Darice.

Please head over to SSD on PCP and get your freebie.  Then head over to the SSD shop and see what other amazing images Lindsay has to offer.  She is awesome!  Her talent is endless.

Thanks for stopping by.

Today at Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls we are doing Dystopian films.  For those of you who don't know what that is (which I didn't either when I got the assignment), here is the definition.

A dystopia (from the Greek δυσ- and τόπος, alternatively,
cacotopia,[1] kakotopia, cackotopia, or anti-utopia) is

the vision of a society that is the opposite of utopia. A dystopian society is often a planned structured society in which the conditions of life are deliberately made miserable, characterized by poverty, oppression, violence, disease, scarcity, and/or pollution for the benefit of a select minority or some unnatural societal goal.

I chose Planet of the Apes.  I found this great image online.  It was from a coloring book.  I colored it with Copics.  All the paper is generic and I distressed it with my Tim Holtz distress tool.  I think it came out pretty darn good.  My friend thinks it looks like her husband.  I don't think so.

Please head over to Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls and play along.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi everyone.  Welcome to the Sassy Studio Designs Holiday Honey Blog Hop!!!  If you came from the oh-so-talented Kathy's blog, you are on the right track.  I have been dying for this all week.  The previews were so stinkin' cute.  Lindsay, you are amazing!  I am showcasing Ariel for you today.  What a doll she is.  All the beautiful images are now available for sale.  Before you buy, hop along with us won't you?  We have some great fun lined up for you.  As you hop, each DT member or guest designer has a trivia question about the 12 Days of Christmas on their blog. Entries with the correct answers to all 12 questions will be put in the hopper and the winner will be chosen randomly.  You have until Monday, November 14th at Midnight to enter.  My question is:

What do the 9 ladies dancing symbolize?
But wait, there's more. As you hop, leave each member some love along the way. Each comment will put you in the hopper for 1 brand new Holiday Honey image. There will be 2 winners and you never know which DT member's blog comments the winner will be chosen from, so spread your love around.

SSD Holiday Honey Preview

Good morning.  Sassy Studio Designs has been previewing new images all week.  Today is my turn and I am proud to bring you Sleeping Beauty herself, Holiday Honey Aurora.

How beautiful is she?!  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The ribbon is from Darice, the poinsettia is from Martha Stewart.  The background is some awesome foil paper I found at Hollo's.  I am currently exploring the world of metal.  I ran it through my BigShot with a snowflake embossing folder.  I love the shine.

Saturday SSD will be hosting the Holiday Honey Blog Hop.  We will have awesome prizes, Christmas trivia and a party chat with the Design Team and other crafters around the globe.  I hope you will join us.

Thanks for stopping by.

Jude and the Rockers - Christmas!!!!

Hello everyone,  Princess Procrastination here.  I apologize for the hour delay in my posting.  I have been quite busy and didn't have time to work on my cards using the new Jude and the Rockers Christmas stamps from Simply Betty Stamps until today.

Aren't they adorable?!  I colored them all with Copics.  I also flocked the Santa hat and the slippers.  The embellies are from Dress it Up and Buttons Galore.  I put some Diamond Glaze on the milk glass and the glasses.  These little cuties were fun to color but as I said, I rushed through it way to quickly.  I hope Betty will forgive me.  She sure has done an awesome job with these images.

Please hop over to Simply Betty Stamps to see how you can get them for your very own.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Fabulous Freebie Friday

Good morning everyone.  It is time for another Fabulous Freebie Friday with Sassy Studio Designs and Paper Craft Planet.  Today is Create a Scene and the Fabulous Freebie is Domestic Diva from SSD.

I colored my Domestic Diva with Copics, cut her out and popped up only the top half of her.  Don't you think she looks like Adrienne Maloof?  I have a confession to make.  I have a guilty pleasure and it is the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.  If you don't know Adrienne, she is one of the housewives.  From the moment I got this image I knew I wanted to color her hair like Adrienne's hair.  Her face is so similar I think.  Maybe it is just me.  This week's episode had Adrienne learning how to roast a chicken.  When Lisa told her to wash the chicken, she took it to the sink and washed it with hand soap.  Good thing she is rich and has a chef.

If you would like to have your own copy of this Domestic Diva, just hop over to the SSD group on PCP.  If you are a follower, you get her for free.  If you are not and you want her, just join us.  Once you are a follower, you can download her.  She will only be available for 24 hours so you better hurry.  Head on over there.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

BTBD Challenge - Scary Kids

Hi everyone.  Today at Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls we are doing Scary Kids, well sort of.  The challenge is to do something inspired by a movie with scary kids or a movie that scares kids or just use a character that scares kids.  I chose...the scariest of them all...The Wicked Witch of the West!!!

This is my first tri shutter card.  I love the way it came out.  The Wizard of Oz is my absolute favorite movie.  I got this awesome Graphic 45 paper a little while ago and I have been dying to use it.  The image is from Sassy Studio Designs.  Isn't it great?  I colored my witch with Copics.  I am limited with my grays but I think it came out just great.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It was part of a Christmas sample pack.  The sentiment is from Archivers (a special exclusive set) and the spider is from K&Co (I think).

Now it is time to put on your thinking cap.  Do you have a scary movie kid in mind?  Or a scary movie character?  We would love to see what you come up with.  Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls would love to have you participate.  Please stop over and see what the other Design Team members have done.  They are super talented.  Thanks for stopping by.
