Halloween Hop with Simply Betty Stamps

Just because the 12 Days of Halloween is over at Simply Betty Stamps, doesn't mean the Halloween fun is over.  You still have until the 30th to upload your projects for any of the 12 days and be in the running for all the fabulous prizes.  And we have a special treat for the next 3 days.  Today is the beginning of our special Halloween Blog Hop!

Betty had a great idea for the Design Team.  She decided to have a Secret Pumpkin Exchange amongst the DT and a few friends.  We each got a Secret Pumpkin Pal and were asked to gift our SPP with a pair of Halloween socks, some candy and a handmade Halloween card.

On each blog of the hop you will see what that person got from their Secret Pumpkin, and they will reveal who it was.  There will be three days of It's the Great Secret Pumpkin Exchange Blog Hop. Each day will have a Spooktacular Prize, however the details on how you can win the prize will not be revealed until October 31st and the winners of each prize will be announced on Nov. 10th on Betty's  birthday.

Today's Prize is a super cute bucket with three Teen Scene Halloween stamps, embellishments and candy! You will be able to create three different awesome cards with all the fun goodies and your stamp included in this bucket! The Stamps included are: Addams Couple, Teen Scene Halloween Group, and the Addams Portrait rubber stamps!

OK, let's get started with day one!
Here is the hop order:

Simply Betty Stamps
Betty
Aeryn
Suzi
Ends at SBS

Leave a comment on SBS with your favorite project for a chance to win a special Secret Betty Digi... you won't want to miss this chance, as she along with the rest of the Betty's will soon be available in clear stamp form only! Only you and the DT will have her before everyone else.   I am not scheduled until the 31st so you will have to wait to see what I got.  Have a frightfully good time!

ON THE 12TH DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
12 Bats a-flying

Today is the final day of the 12 Days of Halloween Challenge from Simply Betty Stamps.  Congrats to me as I was able to complete a project for all 12 days.  Congrats to Betty for another successful 12 day challenge.  It was so much fun.

For my 12 bats a-flying I chose Vampire Christian from SBS because he already had 2 bats with him.  I colored him with Copics, cut him out and popped him up on some dp that had bats all over it.  Then I mounted it in my mini flip book.  I miscalculated and still have one flap left in my book left.  I thought the 12 Days of Halloween would fill up the entire book.  I guess I forgot how to count.

Please leave me a comment and tell me what you think is missing from my book.  I have spiders, bats, ghosts, vampires, pumpkins and more.  But what am I missing?

All the details of this challenge are posted on Simply Betty Stamps.  Please play along.  You still have time.  Thanks for stopping by.

ON THE 11TH DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
11 Casks a-leaning
Welcome to Day11 of Simply Betty's 12 Days of Halloween.  I did not know what a cask was when I got this assignment.  I had to ask.  Betty put the definition on the post for today but if you haven't been there yet, I will tell you.  A cask is a sort of barrel that can hold wine.  This image is Ginger from Simply Betty's Funky Pirates.  She came with her own barrel so there's my cask.

I am almost done with my mini flip book.  Even though I am rushing through this book and yesterday was not one of my finer moments, I still like it.  I am following my mother's suggestion and just having fun and not killing myself over it.  I do have to say that I will never be rushing through again.  I just feel I could have given it so much more.  I need to practice some time management skills.

Thanks for stopping by and please head over to SBS to see all the challenge details.  Have a good one.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?

Today at Sassy Studio Designs we are doing your favorite movie for Dare to be Sassy Thursday.

My favorite movie is the Wizard of Oz.  You may be wondering why I chose Hermione Granger from Harry Potter for this assignment.  I will tell you.  I have the Wiz planned for next week so I decided to go with another movie I love which is Harry Potter.  I have read all the books and seen all the movies.  I am addicted.  I colored Hermione with Copics and popped her up.  I have to apologize to all of you for not putting enough effort into this.  I actually forgot I had an assignment and had to do this quickly.  I think from now on I will keep a list of what I have to do in my studio so I don't forget.

Please hop over to Sassy Studio Designs to see what the rest of the DT has done for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

ON THE 10TH DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
Ten ghouls a-groaning

Welcome back for day 10 of Simply Betty's 12 Days of Halloween.  I am posting this against my better judgment.  I know that it is very obvious that I made this in no time at all.  It is not my best work but I didn't want to miss out on any of the 12 days.  I also didn't have any ghouls to use so I improvised.  I just put 10 of whatever I had handy on this, skulls, spiders and bats.  The pink power ranger head belongs to my niece Rebecca.  I also didn't have time to color an image for this.  I guess time just got away from me.  I think maybe I should start now to prepare my materials for the 12 Days of Halloween 2012.

Please head over to Simply Betty Stamps to see all the challenge details.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

ON THE 9TH DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
Nine ghosts a-booing

Welcome to day 9 of the 12 Days of Halloween by Simply Betty Stamps.  Today is another special day.  In addition to the challenge we have another release.  The Coquettes set is now for sale.  I am using Priscilla.  I colored her with Copics while I was watching Dancing with the Stars.  I went a little quicker than I usually like to while coloring because I wasn't paying attention.  Maks was dancing, can you blame me?!

I went literal with the challenge again and added 9 ghosts.  The lovely lady in the picture is my mother who recently passed away.  She is holding my 2 nieces when they were little.  The picture quality was very poor.  My niece scanned it and emailed it to me.  I had to cut the background off because it was such a mess.  My nieces are all grown up now and my mother is gone.  This picture is very special to me.  I wish I would have spent more time on the page but my mother is the one that told me not to kill myself with multiple day challenges.  I saved this picture and plan on doing a 12x12 page later on.  This mini flip book is just for this 12 day challenge.

Please hop over to SBS and check out what the others have done.  The Coquettes are for sale now so make sure you get your own.  Thanks for stopping by.

ON THE EIGHTH DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
Eight monsters shrieking

In addition to the Simply Betty Stamps 12 Days of Halloween challenge, Betty is also previewing another new release.  This release is called the Coquettes.  I am using Cosette.  Isn't she such a sweetie?  I needed a sweet image to go with this picture of my great niece Bailey.  She is such a sweetheart.  Miss Bailey Bug was a fairy for Halloween last year.  She even has makeup on.  What a doll.

I colored Cosette with Copics, cut her out and attached her with glue dots.  For my 8 monsters shrieking I used sets of eyes.  It was the only thing I had 8 of handy.  I know eyes can't shriek so I will play the artistic interpretation card one more time.  I put it all in my flip book and I was done in record time.  I am still trying to embrace the "don't drive yourself nuts" mentality with this 12 day challenge so I don't get burned out.  My flip book is looking so good.

Please hop over to Simply Betty Stamps and check out what the rest of the Design Team has done.  All the challenge details are posted there as well.  Please play along.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My true love gave to me
Seven glowing pumpkins

Simply Betty Stamps is up to Day 7 of the 12 Days of Halloween challenge.  Today is 7 glowing pumpkins.  This is the front of my 12 Days flip book.  The pumpkin paper is so stinkin' cute!  It is from K & Co.  There were plenty of pumpkins on this paper but I still felt like adding more.  I should have backed off a bit because now I think there are too many.  I added so many that I completely covered up all the foliage I put on the right side.  The pumpkins stickers are from EK and had a bit of sparkle already added to them.  I put googly eyes on two of the pumpkins.  I couldn't resist.

My image is Punkin' Judy from SBS.  I wasn't feeling well today and I am afraid I didn't color her the way I intended to color her.  We have a special guest posting with us today and I was feeling a bit intimidated by her as well.  It is the one and only Suzanne Dean.  She is a master colorer.  Most of the time I think I do a pretty good job but today nothing was working for me.  I still think it is okay though.  I lost most of the shading I wanted and her hair isn't even the color I started with.  I added some glitter to her hair to try to cover up the flaws.  Overall though, I am still pleased with my book.  I have no idea what I am going to do with it when it is done but I still like it and am happy that I am making it.

I went to Adventures in Stamping this morning with Barbie and Cathy.  We had a great time but I was still feeling kind of punky.  I found a lot of really cool things that I will be working on and posting in the future.  I was introduced to a company I had never heard of before.  I can't wait to introduce them to you as well but you will have to wait until I make something with what I bought today.

Please head over to Simply Betty Stamps to get all the challenge details and see what the rest of the design team has created.  Thanks so much for stopping by and please come back tomorrow for day 8.

ON THE SIXTH DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
Six goblins gobbling

We have made it halfway through the Simply Betty Stamps 12 Days of Halloween.  Can you believe it?  Today calls for six gobblins gobbling.  So one of my goblins is a ghost, I just thought he was cute.  I cut them out of some Bo Bunny DP.  I am still working on emptying my box-o'-scraps and I have had this page in there for ages.  My flip book is really filling up fast.

My image is Phoebe from the Zander Zone.  I colored her with Copics and popped her up with SU Dimensionals.  She is such a cutie.  The entire Zander Zone is really adorable.  I added some Stickles to the studs on her belt and wrist.  She is dressed and ready to celebrate with her gobblin friends.

Please head over to Simply Betty Stamps and check out all the challenge details so you can play along.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

ON THE FIFTH DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
Five Scary Spooks

Simply Betty Stamps is back for Day 5.  Today is 5 Scary Spooks.  So my spooks are more cute than scary but I like them.  My spooks are on my background paper.  I cut a few of them out and popped them up.  I added a skeleton from Martha Stewart behind my image.  I liked the way his arm was.

The image I chose for this page in my 12 Days Flip Book is Draco the Ghost Gent.  I know I used his head yesterday but today you get the whole shebang.  He is my favorite you know.  I colored him with Copics and popped him up with some SU Dimensionals.  Since this is such a small page in my book, I couldn't really add much more.  My book is really starting to look wonderful.  Who would have ever thought I could be happy with a project that didn't take me a million years to complete.  I am glad I took my mother's advice from last year and am having fun with the 12 days instead of driving myself nuts.

Make sure you head over to Simply Betty Stamps for all the challenge details.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sassy Studio Design's Steampunk Relay Continues

Hello everyone and welcome to another day in Sassy Studio Design's Progressive Relay Challenge.  As you know, SSD hit 500 followers on Paper Craft Planet.  What an accomplishment.  To celebrate, we are doing a relay challenge.  Here is today's image:

How awesome is she?!  I colored her with Copics.  The challenge today is for a Victorian card.  I just think Lindsay is amazing.  She comes up with the most amazing images.  She is quite the artist.  If you are participating in the challenge, you know what to do.  For the rest of you, head over to Sassy Studio Designs for all the details.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by.

ON THE FOURTH DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
Four Skeletons!
Day 4 of Simply Betty Stamp's 12 Days of Halloween asks for four skeletons.  Easy peasy right?  This  adorable little clown in my niece Grace (or as I like to call her, The Blantonator).  If she looks familiar, I also used her on Day 2.  She is all grown up now but I love her Halloween pictures.  I added this to my flip book which should be filled to the brim by Day 12.  The skeletons behind her are from Martha Stewart.  I am pretty sure the one to her right is a button from Dress it Up.  For my fourth skeleton I used the head of SBS Draco.  He is by far my favorite SBS image.  I think he is just so cool.  I only used his head this time because I didn't have a lot of time to get this project completed.  I think I did pretty good for only having 20 minutes or so.

Please head over to Simply Betty Stamps for all the challenge details so you can enter.  It may seem like a lot of work but it really is fun.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

ON THE THIRD DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
3 black cats!
Okay so 2 of my cats are purple.  This is all open to artistic interpretation.  Simply Betty Stamps is on day 3 of this fantastic challenge.  I am super sleepy and have to get up very early so I am going to keep this brief.  I colored Lydia the Living Dead girl from SBS with Copics.  I added her to my Halloween flip book.  I don't really have a plan for this book as of yet but I know all 12 days of this challenge are going in it.  My husband bought me a Cinch and I wanted to use it.  This flip book is the first thing I bound with it.  I love the way it came out.  The Boo sentiment is from Studio G and the cats are 3d stickers but I don't know from which company.

Please check Simply Betty Stamps for all the challenge details.  Thanks for stopping by.

ON THE SECOND DAY OF HALLOWEEN

My ghoul love gave to me
Two Trick-or-Treaters!

Welcome to Halloween Day 2 from Simply Betty Stamps.  Day 2 of this challenge calls for 2 Trick-or-Treaters.  For my two I chose to use this picture of my niece and nephew when they were little.  How many men are secure enough to be Cinderella for Halloween?!  Way to go Frank!  I also thought this SBS image of Evil Queen Rio was perfect.  She fits right in with my two princesses.  I again put these in my Halloween flip book.

I colored Rio with Copics and added some glitter glue.  I usually put Diamond Glaze on Rio's glasses but it is late so I will do that tomorrow.  The sentiment is from Studio G.  The stickers are from Miss Martha.  They were on sale for 50% off this past weekend.  I usually don't buy her embellies because they are way over priced.

I tried to follow my mother's suggestion again and kept it simple and didn't drive myself nuts.  12 cards in 12 days is tough when you are the Queen of Procrastination.  I hope you like it and I hope you join in on the fun.  All the details are posted at Simply Betty Stamps.  Thanks for stopping by.

The 12 Days of Halloween is Back!

On the first day of Halloween
My ghoul love gave to me
An owl in a rotten oak tree!

Hello everyone.  Simply Betty Stamps is doing the 12 Days of Halloween.  Betty started this last year and it was such a success, she decided to do it again.  I wasn't on the Design Team last year but I did participate in every challenge except one.  It was so exhausting but so much fun.  My mother was still with me last year and she tried to get me to stop playing along.  I was taking it way too seriously.  My mom has passed on but I am going to try to take her advice this year.  I have decided to only use things I already have (including images I already have stamped and ready to color) and to not try to be a perfectionist with them.  This is supposed to be fun.

I made a flip book this morning with my Cinch to keep all my 12 Days in.  I used the SBS image Pipper from Burton Weenies.  I put her on one of the small flaps in the flip book since I am still not sure how I want the feel of the book to be.  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  Since the challenge for day 1 is an owl in a rotten oak tree, I put one behind her.  I used a stamp from SU and embossed it in silver.  I distressed it with blue and black ink but it doesn't show up well on the picture.  The ribbon was a scrap piece I just found buried while cleaning my studio.  The eyes in the corner are from Jolee. I didn't like the way they looked so I tried to take them off.  The paper ripped so now they are there for good.

I hope you like it.  Please hop over to SBS and check out what the rest of the DT has created.  I also hope you play along.  Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome to another fabulous Hop from Sassy Studio Designs.  If you thought Halloween Hop I was fun, you will love Halloween Hop II.  I am proud to introduce you to Medusa.

When we got the list of images we were going to be working with this month, I immediately wanted Medusa.  I had all kinds of ideas in my head for her, none of which ended up on my project.  I was a little sidetracked while working on it.  We finally set up a new workstation in my studio.  It has been a work-in-progress for quite a while and now it is really starting to take shape.  I can't wait to get back in there and load it with my supplies.  I will put some pictures up as soon as it is completed.

SSD has a challenge for you today.  Create a Halloween project with 5 of the following items.  I highlighted the ones I used on mine.

1.Bats
2.Pumpkins
3.Ghosts
4.Ribbon
5.Glitter
6.Brads
7.Gems
8.Skeleton
9.Gravestone
10.Candy
11.Skull
12.Blood

You have 5 days to complete the challenge.  The winner will receive 3 Halloween images from this release.  There will also be 2 random winners chosen from the comments left on the DT blogs so make sure you leave some love along the way.  There will also be a Party chat tonight at 10 PM Eastern if you would like to chat with the DT.  Just click the Party Blog flag at SSD.

SBS Release Day

Today is release day at Simply Betty Stamps.  We have had some great previews for Teen Scene Christmas and today you get to see the rest.  Here are mine:

Betty Sally

Christian Jack Skellington

What fun!  I chose not to use Christmas paper with these for a very good reason, I was cleaning today and moved my paper.  I couldn't find my Christmas papers.  I got a new desk and took today off from work so I could get it organized and I made a bigger mess than I started out with.  I colored them with Copics and just added bits and pieces I could grab easily.  I hope you like them.

As you know, Betty has been going through a lot these last few weeks.  The crafting world has rallied around her and she is so thankful.  She is offering this new Teen Scene Christmas stamp line as digis for 2 weeks only.  Hop over and get them while you can.

Teen Scene Christmas Day 2

Good morning.  Today the talented Design Team at Simply Betty Stamps is giving you another peek at the Teen Scene Christmas line that comes out tomorrow.  Here is what I made.

Rio and Snowman

Scrooged Miller

Aren't they just darling?  Please head over to SBS to see what the rest of the DT created.  They are so adorable.

I colored both with Copics and popped them up using SU dimensionals.  They are my favorite pop dots.  They are just the right thickness for me.  I can do a double layer and my cards still fit in regular A2 envelopes.  The paper I used on both is from Paper Pizazz.  I like the snowflakes but I wish the holly was brighter.  I love love love bright colors.  The ribbon on Rio is generic and the ribbon on Tiny Tim is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The snow I added to the snowman is Stampendous Shaved Ice.  I love it!

Thanks for stopping by.

How About Some Holiday Cheer from Simply Betty Stamps

Simply Betty Stamps is about to release a new Teen Scene Christmas line.  The previews start today so here we go.

Lola

London

How cute are these?!  I did my usual Copics on these but I have a confession to make.  First, I tried new paper.  I have been using Gina K Designs Pure Luxury since I started with Copics.  I decided to try the X-Press Blend It Card this time (I think that is the name of it).  I am usually quite heavy handed with the colors.  I love bright colors!  With X-Press you need a much lighter touch than what I am used to so I didn't get quite the results I wanted.  I guess I need to practice more.

Second, I dropped black ink on London's shirt.  I didn't mean to so of course I had to do what I could to make it usable since I only printed her once.  Oh well, live and learn.  I have also been trying a little something new that my friend Natasha (name has been changed to protect the innocent) suggested.  I am making my "cards" a little bigger now and matting them so they can be framed.  I sell my projects at craft shows.  I recently did an art show and got such a nice response from people treating them as art instead of cards.  Natasha thought if I had bigger ones with mats I might sell more.  We will see.

The ribbon on both projects is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I just got my second order from them.  They have beautiful ribbon.  I wish I could remember where I got the cute flower buttons so I could tell you.  I do know I bought them at Archivers.

Betty is giving away a few images randomly to those who leave the Design Team members some love so please leave me some.  You never know which one of the blogs she will pick the winners from.  Tomorrow we will have more previews so come and check us out!

Thanks for stopping by.

MUMMY INVASION!!!

Good morning all.  Today I am proud to bring you Mummy Honey from Sassy Studio DesignsSSD is showing previews of our second Halloween release this year.  So many images, so much fun.

I used Reminisce paper and some really cool spiders from K&Co.  I colored with Copics, of course.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I just discovered them recently and they have some great stuff.

I am doing double-duty with this card.  Beyond the Burtonesque Dolls is doing projects inspired by Terry Gilliam.  I was not familiar with him before this challenge.  He has such a wide range.  I found an old animation online but forgot to save it.  It had a creepy Tim Burton quality to it but was also kind of fun and quirky.
