New Toxic Kids!!!!

Welcome to another great challenge from The Burtonesque Dolls.  The design team was given amazing new releases from Simply Betty Stamps called Toxic Kids.  I am using Iceflower.  Isn't she cool?  I colored her with Copics and some glitter.  I wish you could see this live.  The colors are awesome.  The challenge this week is to pick a card from the design team and recreate it and make it your own.  All the details are at the Dolls site.  Please check it out.  The prize is the ENTIRE TOXIC KIDS LINE.  Can you believe it?

2 Sisters Make Your Own Embellies

Sorry for the late post.  I started reading a new book and just couldn't put it down!  Today at 2 Sisters we are sponsored by 2 amazing companies...Crafty Sentiments and One Stop Card Crafts.  Please pop over and check them out.  You won't be sorry.

Our challenge is to make your own embellishments.  I started with this bear couple from Crafty Sentiments and colored them with Copics.  I kept things simple using only one patterned paper.  I made quilled fringe flowers and leaves for my "make your own embellies" touch.

Thanks for stopping by and please enter the challenge.  I would love to see what you come up with.

MAKE IT BURTON!!!!

The Burtonesque Dolls have some super changes to announce this week.  We will be having new releases and great prizes soon.  Please check the main site for all the details.  This week we are doing "Make it Burton".  We ask that you do anything you want as long as you give it a Burton Flair.

For mine, I used Alice Honey from Sassy Studio Designs.  I used a fabulous Wonderland background paper but unfortunately, I covered most of it up.  I colored Alice with Copics and a little MS glitter glue.  It is very late and I am very tired so I am going to make this a quick post.

Please pop over and see what the others have created for your inspiration.  Please join us and come back next week for the new releases.

Thanks for stopping by!

Furry Friends

Hi everyone.  Welcome back.  This week at 2 Sisters Challenge we are sponsored by The Crafty Pad.  The theme is Furry Friends.  The design team was given these two adorable bunnies.  I covered the boy in Flower Soft (because boys are hairy) and the girl in Flock.  I popped up the tie, bow, eyes and noses.  The patterned paper is from Inque Boutique (for my last post 2) and the cardstock is generic from Archiver's.

I planned to do a bigger heart but I was working in the middle of the night and I didn't want to break out the Cricut so I just used the biggest punch I had handy.  The sentiment is from SU.

Please pop over to 2 Sisters to see what the rest of the design team has done for your inspiration.  We would love to see what you can come up with.

Thanks for stopping by!

Get Well Wishes and Handmade Embellies!!!!

This lovely card is doing double duty for me today.  The Sassy Studio Designs challenge is to use handmade embellishments on your project.  SSD is also sponsoring a challenge over at Aud Sentiments.  That challenge is to make a get well project.  My good friend & fellow DT member Julie is also on the DT for Aud Sentiments.  She is awesome!  Pop over there and check it out.

I used this amazing Nurse digi from SSD to start off with.  I colored her with Copics (of course) and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The brown cardstock is generic from Archiver's.  I don't remember where I got the patterned paper.  The sentiment is from SU.  The aqua ribbon is generic from Pat Catan's.

I got the idea for the bandage from Jasmine (her name has been changed to protect the innocent).  I was originally trying to find some kind of patterned paper with bandages on it but also knew I wanted to make a handmade embellishment for it.  I hope you can tell in the picture that it is a bandage.  Pretty cool huh?  Thanks Jasmine.

Please pop over to Sassy Studio Designs to see what the other DT members made for you and join in the fun.  We would love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by!

UPDATE:   I was able to get another card done with handmade embellishments.

The image on this one is Sassy Ghost from the SSD Halloween line.
The background paper had a victorian feel to it and I thought the Sassy Ghost looked like Sarah Jessica Parker as a ghost in an old movie.  I loved the paper so much (before the glitter fell off and got all over the place). I thought they would be perfect together.

The handmade embellies are quilled roses and leaves.  I find quilling to be a PIA but I really enjoy it.  Aunt Sylvia helped with these.  We found a cheat way to do them that takes much less time.  I prefer the long way but I was really pressed for time tonight.

MARCH MOVIE MADNESS...SASSY STYLE!!!

Yeah....it is March Release Day at Sassy Studio Designs!!!!
We're doing things a little differently...we are having 2 chat times...one at 11am-12pm  (California Time) and then our usual time, 7-8pm. So if you're across the pond, you can join us for the fun this time! We understand we've got a lot of people in different time zones and we want to have you all join us in the fun! Feel free to join us for both chat parties! Or just join us for one! We hope you all will join us!

If you are following the hop...I had Pocahontas.  Isn't she just adorable??  I colored her with Copics and and mounted her on some digital papers that I felt had an Indian feel to them.  I made a couple of rosettes for the side.  One thing I  would definitely suggest is NOT to use flimsy handmade papers for rosettes.  They really didn't hold up well at all.  But otherwise, I really like the way this came out.  What do you think?

We're also running a release day challenge...a sketch challenge...use this sketch (below), and make sure to include a Sassy Studio Designs image (this challenge you DO need to use an SSD image - unlike our other challenges). This would be a great way to use the St. Patrick's Day freebie posted on the Paper Craft Planet group. (hint hint!).

Or pop on over to the store to grab a new image or two!
You will WANT all these new images! They are so cute!

You will have till Monday 11:59pm CST (California Time)
A random draw for the winner will be done on Tuesday!
The winner will receive 2 images of their choice!
Please visit Sassy Studio Designs to enter the sketch challenge.

I had so much fun with Pocahontas that I had to try another one.

She's a cutie!!!!!

Ok, now here is the Blog Hop list for Sassy Studio Designs March Releases:

OH BABY!

Oh baby, oh baby!!!  This week at 2 Sisters Challenge we want you to use a baby in your project or make a project for a baby.  Doesn't that sound sweet.  I could work on baby things all day.  We are sponsored by Pattie's Creations who donated this sweet little sleeping baby to the Design Team.  Such a cutie pie!!!

I colored my baby with Copics on part and paper pieced the rest to match the background paper.  I used nesties for the main piece and my new EK border punch for the white layer across the middle.  I think this one is going to be a favorite before long.  I kept it simple since the baby was so cute.

Please pop over to 2 Sisters and see what the rest of the Design Team has done.  Great job ladies!

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to become a follower.  I am needy and want my number to climb.

All About Christian

I am finally entering a challenge.  With all that has been going on personally and with the DTs that I am on, I have really been slacking on entering challenges.  I hopped over to Simply Betty Challenges (one of my favorites) and saw the details for this Christian challenge.  Christian is a digi available from Simply Betty Stamps.  There are at least four different Christians (I know this because I have four) and the challenge was to use Christian in your project.

The best part of this challenge is the prize.  One lucky winner (oh please be me!!!) will help them release the next line of images.
How sweet is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simply Betty Challenges is where I entered my very first online challenge.  I am so psyched about this challenge.  I had several grand ideas but no time to finish them.  I finally sat down to get something put together.  I started with Bahumbug Christian and Christian Valentine.  I decided to have Cupid accidentally shooting Santa in the butt!!!!  Can you imagine?  I drew an arrow next to Santa's bottom.  I colored them both images with Copics.  I added a touch of MS glitter glue for sparkle.  I added liquid applique to Santa's beard and hat.  I kept the embellies simple since the background paper was so busy.  What do you think?

Wish me luck and thanks for stopping by!

Mars Attacks!!!

Hi all.
This week The Burtonesque Dolls are hanging with aliens.  The challenge is called Mars Attacks.  Use the movie Mars Attacks and let your imagination run wild.  I found these cute little martians online.  I added space helmets.  I used acetate and diamond glaze.  Much cooler in person.  I drew a cape on one also.  The head is from Smeared Inks Build a Zombie set.  Love that one!  I colored everything with Copic markers and added a little glitter.

The background is the White House, of course.  I found the picture online.  I kept the rest simple by just adding a few stars in the corners.  Please pop over and see what the rest of the design team has done.

Thanks for stopping by!

Raggedy Ann and Andy

It's a sketch challenge this week at 2 Sisters Challenge.  Our sponsor is Stichy Bear Stamps and the Design Team was given several amazing digital images to choose from.  They also gave us digi gingham paper to use.  We ask you to use this amazing layout by our own Annette:

Since Annette did all the hard work for us, I just concentrated on the fun part.....coloring.  I LOVE to color.  I chose this image of Raggedy Ann and Andy.  I have always wondered, are they brother and sister?  Boyfriend and girlfriend?  Just friends?  I don't know but I do know they are cute together.  I colored them with Copic markers.  I added just a touch of glitter here and there to make them pop.  I cut out the frame with Nesties and popped it up with SU dimensionals. The paper I used was generic.  The dashed lines are done with a Signo pen.  I used a new EK punch to do the swirl and flower in the red layer.

I really love the way this one came out.  I know I keep saying I will learn to take better pictures and I really will eventually.  The really good ones just don't translate well online for me.

Thanks for stopping by.

ALL ABOUT THE GREEN

Hi everyone.  It is time for another Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge at Sassy Studio Designs.  This week the challenge is ALL ABOUT GREEN.  Your project must use green as the main color.  I am thrilled with this challenge as GREEN is my favorite color.  I started my card with this gorgeous Victorian Beauty digi from SSD.  I am absolutely addicted to the entire SSD line.  I would stay on this Design Team forever if they would let me.  I colored her with Copic Markers a couple of weeks ago hoping to be able to use her soon.  Of course I colored her GREEN so she fit right in with this challenge.  I added just a touch of MS glitter glue to accent her dress and earrings.

The frame was cut out using Nesties & I popped the image up with SU dimensionals.  The white potion of the frame was antiqued with some Distress Ink.  The pearls on the frame were colored with Copics.  The background paper was a freebie I got from DSE.  I printed it out and then ran it through my Texture Boutique with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The sentiment is from SU and all the cardstock is generic from Archiver's.

Now comes the fun part.  I learned quilling at my local 3FC craft meeting.  Natasha (her name has been changed to protect the innocent) was presenting last month and quilling is what she chose to teach us.  I am completely blaming her for my new obsession.  As you can tell, I am no expert but it really is fun to do.  Now I just have to find the time to practice.  I bought a bunch of quilling paper and some tools and I am hooked.  Bad Natasha!!!

Please hop over to the SSD blog site to see what other inspirations await you.  Thanks for stopping by.  If you are not a follower, please sign up.  I would love to have you.
