Teddy Bears at 2 Sisters!!!!

This week at 2 Sisters Challenge we are doing A Teddy Bear Picnic.  Your project must include a teddy bear.  We are being sponsored by Stamp Fairy and Inky Impressions.  Please check 2 Sisters Challenge for all the details.  I started my card with this adorable teddy from Stamp Fairy.  I wanted to keep it simple so he would stand out.  I colored him with Copic markers.  I added MS glitter glue to the wings and halo.  I also added yellow flock on his ears, tummy and paws.  I wanted him to be fluffy and I didn't have any brown flock so I did the yellow instead.  I also put diamond glaze on his nose.

The Design Team was given several images by Stamp Fairy to choose from.  I wanted to use this angel teddy in honor of my mother who recently received her very own set of angel wings.  This is for you Faye.  Please visit 2 Sisters and check out what the rest of the desing team has created for your inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.

RED, WHITE AND BLACK

Hello again.  This week The Burtonesque Dolls are challenging you to use red, white & black in your project.  This color combo certainly has that Burtonesque feel.  I started with this gorgeous background paper.  Unfortunately, you can't really see how beautiful it is online.  I believe it was from Creative Imaginations.  Next I added Edward Scissorhands.  I must apologize as I forgot which stamp company I got him from.  If you are interested, leave me a comment and I will get back to you with the
name of the stamp company.

I added black ribbon and some heart keys I punched out with one of Martha's punches.  The red gems on the ribbon were from a pirate set made by Darice.  The sentiment and punches around it
are all from Stampin' Up!

The Burtonesque Dolls are now doing challenges every two weeks instead of weekly.  Please visit TBD for all the challenge details and check out what the other design team members created for your inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.

Embossing with 2 Sisters

This week at 2 Sisters Challenge we are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish and Pizzaz Aplenty.  I started my card with this adorable digi from Robyn's Fetish.  Isn't it just the cutest thing?  I colored it with Copic markers and added some Marth Stewart glitter.  I also used just a touch of my white pen.

I then jumped over to my "box-o'-scraps" and dug out some paper scraps.  Since the challenge was embossing (either kind) I ran the brown bottom piece through my Texture Boutique.  I really love the way it came out.  I cut out the circles with my trusted nesties.  I don't know how I ever lived without them.  I finished it off with some chocolate pearl brads from Pizzaz Aplenty.  These brads are quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Please hop over to the 2 Sisters site and check out what the rest of the design team
 has created for inspiration.

On a personal note, my wonderful mother passed away on Wednesday.  She had been handicapped for almost 28 years and has had such a rough road.  She recently suffered a stroke that damaged the entire left side of her brain.  She is finally out of pain and has been given her wings.
She will be missed more than I can say.

Thanks for stopping by.

TBD Sketch #2

Here is a card I made using an image of one of my coworkers.  I scanned the image, reduced it and then printed it out on Gina K. pure luxury cardstock.  I colored it with Copic markers and cut it out with nesties.  The layout is one created by Graphicat.  This was for a prior Burtonesque Dolls challenge.

I used my Martha Stewart drippy goo punch for the edges of the layers.  I love the papers I used.  Most of it is generic from Archivers.  I can't seem to remember where I got the background paper.  It was in my "box-o'-scraps"  I tried to keep it as masculine as possible.  Jim said he was going to have it framed.  I am glad he liked it.  I wish I knew who the caricturist was.  I would love to have some more images done.

RELEASE DAY!!!!!!

You guessed it....Scarecrow!

It is release day at Sassy Studio Designs and I could hardly wait.  The new images are so absolutely AMAZING (not to mention Sassy).   My image is the scarecrow.  Is this not the sassiest scarecrow you ever saw?  It was my absolute pleasure to be involved in this release.  The Wizard of Oz is my favorite movie.  I am a total Wiz freak!!!

I colored the image with Copics and added some glitter...well, not some....A LOT!!!  The background paper is glitter cardstock.  I used matching glitter for the straw on the image.  The great chocolate pearl brads are from Pizzaz Aplenty.  I just love them.  The remaining cardstock is generic.  I added some raffia and a button and that is that.  I wanted to keep the card very clean as to not take away from the image.

I got a little carried away with all the new images so I made a couple more.  Here they are:

As you can see, I was really feeling the glitter on these.  I plan on finishing the set and doing them all with glitter.  I just can't help it.  These digis are so gorgeous.  According to the hop rules, I have to give you a question.

So today is a little different you don't just hop in order it's a little trivia game you start with a movie trivia question and you select the answer. The answer will take you to a DT members blog where you will find the next movie trivia question and you select your next answer and so on and so forth until you reach the city of oz (the end).

Here is your question to get you to the next blog:
Who was a little bit of a fraidy "cat" but finally got the courage to be brave?

Here's the Answer List:

The Tin Man

So collect all the answers from the blogs and have them into me by Sunday 6PM PST. (9pm EST). Email your answers to tandjstudios at gmail dot com.

Before I go I want to give a little shout out to my good friend Sarah.  She is a Wiz nut too.  She helped me with my color choices.  She may only be 5 but she is already one of the smartest people I know.  Thanks for your help Sarah.

Colors of Love

Today at Sassy Studio Designs we are doing "The Colors of Love".  The challenge is to use Red, Pink and White in your project.  I started with this super sassy image, broke out the Copics and got busy.  The cardstock is from Stampin Up.  The flourish is a sizzix die.  Add some generic flowers, brads and glitter and here you have it.

Please stop by the SSD site and check out the others and by all means, join in the fun!!  I can't wait to see what you create!!!!  Also stop by on Saturday the 12th for the big release day hop.  Trust me, you won't be disappointed.  Thanks for stopping by.

THE WORLD IS OUR OYSTER

This week at 2 Sisters Challenge we are being sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps and Pizzazz Aplenty.
The challenge is to use pearls in your design.  I started with this amazing chef digi from Stitchy Bear.  He reminds me of a chef I have loved for most of my adult life (shhhhhhh, don't tell my husband).  I colored him with Copic markers and added dimension to the hat, heart and spatula.  Unfortunately, I still can't take a good picture so you can't tell.  I cut the mat behind him out with a nestie.  I dug into my "box o'scraps" for the background paper.  The other paper is just generic from Archiver's.

For the pearl portion of the challenge I used some small chocolate pearls I got from Pizzazz Aplenty in all four corners.  I also added a chocolate pearl brad in the middle of the bow.  I never plan my sentiments ahead of time but that is something on plan on doing in the future.  As you can see, my sentiment is partially covered by my chef's mat.

I did not have extra time to research challenges so I haven't entered this little guy in any this week.  I think that is something I need to work on in the future as well.

Please stop by 2 Sisters and check out what the rest of the design team has
created and thanks for stopping by.

GET WELL WISHES FROM THE DOLLS!!!

Today The Burtonesque Dolls are sending you GET WELL WISHES.  My mother has recently been experiencing a great deal of health issues.  She is my biggest craft fan so I wanted to do a get well card in her honor.  I started with this "SUPER SEXY" nurse digi.  Unfortunately, I can't remember where I got her from.  I am on a different computer and I don't have my files.  I will correct this post later.

I colored her with Copic markers and used some scraps for the rest.  One of these days I will clean my studio and start using my good stash (as soon as I find it).  This is going to be a quick post tonight.  I had a really long day/night.  Please remember to send well wishes to all in need.

Thanks for stopping by.
