Family Fun Challenge #2 - Stand Up Helpers

Hi everyone.  My cousin, Candy, challenged my sister, Robin, and I to make a card using Elizabeth Crafts Stand Up Helpers.  Candy bought them for us a year ago and we hadn't used them until now.  To be honest, I have a lot of stuff in the studio and they got pushed aside with many other things.  The goal this year is to use things I already have and learn to love them.

I have a hair appointment on Saturday so I decided to use this image from Saturated Canary called Julie Stylist.  I am going to give it to my stylist, Becky.  I hope she likes it.  I was surprised at how easy the stand up helpers were to use.  Thanks Candy.

Here is a close-up of the image:

Here is a side view showing how the stand up helper works:

I layered the thank you die cut 4 times for more dimension.  I am really loving that technique.  I can't wait to see what Robin and Candy come up with.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.

Corrosive Challenge #218 - Things with Wings

Welcome to another fabulous challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  Our theme for this challenge is Things with Wings.  If you are like me, this should be an easy one.  I love fairies, dragons, butterflies...just about anything with wings.  Here are the challenge details:

Hostess: Debora
Sponsor:  Art by MiRan
Prize: 3 Images
Theme: Create a project incorporating something winged

I am using Fairy Lily from Art by MiRan.  I think she is just adorable.  I am continuing my own challenge of trying new things this year.  For this card I tried some really cool glitter my cousin gave me on the wings.  It is from Elizabeth Crafts.  You can color it with Copics.  It was so fun to work with.  I have a feeling I will be using it a lot more.

Please head over to the Corrosive Challenges blog and see what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  They are so awesome!!!

Now I know I am not on Team Biker Girl but I wanted to get in on this one.  My junior buddy Sarah plays softball and this image was perfect for her.  I hope I don't lose the card before the season starts.  I used a great image from KennyK.  I tried something I don't normally do which is the dashed white lines around the card  My hand was not very steady, as you can see.  I will practice and try it again later.

Please head over to KennyK's Krafty Krew and check out what Team Biker Girl created for your inspiration.  They are awesome!

A Valentine for Layla

This is a Valentine I made for my sweet little great niece Layla Faye.  I like to call her Hurricane Julio (long story).  Adorable little Layla won't be caught without a big a** bow on her head.  I think she came out of the womb that way.  I just love my little sweetheart!

I chose to use pink because that is her signature color.  She also loves her bling so I used the sparkly heart buckle.  Here are some pictures of Layla.

Isn't she a cutie pie!  Happy Valentine's Day munchkin.  I love you.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Corrosive Challenges #217 - Splash of Color

It is time for a new challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  This one is called Splash of Color.  Our hostess, Debbie Miller, has asked us to create a white on white project with a splash of color. Skin and hair tones are allowed as well.

Our Sponsor:  Sassy Studio Designs.
The Prize:  4 SSD digi images

I was given this beautiful image called Cupid Portrait from SSD to use for this card.  I will tell you a little secret...I got my challenges mixed up and made a card using this image but it was totally wrong for the challenge.  I had to rip the image off and start all over.  Here is the first card I made:

I was making this with someone in mind and I guess I just wasn't thinking.  It happens when you get old.  Oh well, all's well that ends well.

Please head over to the Corrosive Challenges blog and check out what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.

KennyK Challenge #188, LOVE

We have another great challenge from KennyK's Krafty Krew.  It is the usual drill...Anything Goes with a Twist.  The Twist this time is Love.  All you need is love, right?!  Annette is our hostess for this round and she has all the details on the Krew's blog.

Here are the basics:

You must use a KennyK image to qualify.
If you are chosen randomly as the winner you will get 3 KennyK images of your choosing.
If you incorporated the twist, you will get 2 more images.
The Krew will pick the top 3 and each of them will get 1 image.

I decided to use Hug since it is the perfect image to use for a Love challenge.  I also thought I would use this card for my Family Fun Challenge and add some sequins.  The details are here.  I made a little shaker heart because that was all I could think of to do with the sequins.  I am sequin challenged.

Please head over to the KennyK's Kraft Krew blog and check out what the rest of the design team created for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.
