Corrosive Challenge #223 - Hip to be Square

Here, there and everywhere...hip, hip, so hip to be square.  Come on, sing with me and Huey Lewis.  The new challenge at Corrosive Challenges is Hip to be Square.  All you have to do is make a square project.  Our sponsor is Oddball Art and I was given this fantastic image to use.  The prize is 3 digis from Oddball Art.  You gotta love that.

Lately, all I seem to need are sympathy cards and get well cards.  I never seem to have enough of either.  My mother-in-law has a very close friend that is going through some really tough health issues.  I wanted to make this card for her friend.  I hope she likes it.

Sydney and I went up to the studio and worked for hours on this.  Actually, we cleaned the studio for quite a long time before we started crafting.  What a mess.  We started by cleaning Sydney's studio first.  Here is a pic of her clean studio.

She was very upset that I removed all the projects she had worked so hard to create.  I felt bad and gave her some paper scraps and she happily began to redecorate her studio.

She worked for a long time and then she was all tuckered out.  Poor baby.  She does love to craft.  Just like her mommy.  I took her back downstairs and put her in her big room so she could take a well deserved nap.

Please head over to the Corrosive Challenges blog and check out what the rest of the design team created for your inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.

Little Girl Craft Day

Hello everyone.  Today I'd like to show you a canvas I made that was inspired by one that Shari Carroll did for Simon Says Stamp.  I was looking for a Mother's Day project I could do with my nieces for their mother.  I did a quick sample for them and we spent 3 hours creating their projects.  My friend's daughter was with us as well and she created a canvas for her mother too.

The girls were troopers and did everything I showed them.  They were given creative freedom on their projects.  I just taught them how to use some of the products.  They really loved the texture paste and stencil.  We all did.

Here are some pictures of Cara, Cortlynn and Sarah and their projects.  Great job girls.

Here is a link to their blog.  Please drop by and give them some love.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day.

Corrosive Challege #222 - Floral Fantasy

Hello everyone.  I just had a delicious fish fry with my sister and niece.  I love homemade cocktail sauce on fish.  We had a great time.  Now, it is time for business.  We have another amazing challenge from Corrosive Challenges.  This time it is Floral Fantasy.  All you have to do is have a flower on your project.  Our sponsor this time is:
Here is a bit of information:

Ching-Chou Kuik was born in 1979 at Pantai Remis, Perak, Malaysia . She lived in Malaysia, and moved to Taiwan at age of 19, to pursuit her fine art education at National Taiwan Normal University.
In 2003, she graduated with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts (painting).
While in Taipei, Ching-Chou enjoyed being an art teacher for young children from age three to twelve. The originality of the youngsters' pieces inspires her and brings enthusiasm and creativity to her works.

Ching-Chou moved to Seattle with her husband in 2005.

Ching-Chou became a full-time artist and share her art with others since Mar 2006.
She is a nearly full-time mom of a 4 year-old boy, an art teacher for young children, and a part-time artist who hopes for more hours in her days (don't we all!)

I am using Bones Imprint from Ching-Chou Kuik.  I just love this image and enjoyed working with it.  It kept my mind working and inspired me to do a canvas.  I used a lot of great items in my studio that have been neglected for too long.  I hope you like it.

Please head over to the Corrosive Challenges blog and check out what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  They are so awesome.  Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone.  Here are a few cards I never got around to posting.  My husband has four brothers.  Three of them are triplets.  They recently had a birthday and so did my husband's father.  I couldn't resist using these amazing bird stamps.  We have five parrots and like to send things from "the flock".  I also couldn't resist using googly eyes on these adorable birds.  They were just screaming for it.  I LOVE googly eyes!!!  I have about a million of them.  I colored them using Inktense Blocks.  I don't use Inktense as often as I should.  They go on just like watercolors but they are much more vibrant.

Here are the insides of the cards.  I used Elizabeth Crafts birthday pop-up die.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
