Silver or Gold

Hi everyone.  It is Dare to be Sassy Thursday with Sassy Studio Designs time again.  I am sorry that I missed the last two.  I was out of town at a wedding and then a bit under the weather for a while.  The last challenge of each month is always a Christmas challenge.  This time it is Silver or Gold.  You must use silver or gold on your Christmas project.

I used Classic Marie Antoinette from Sassy Studio Designs.  I colored her silver with Copics, cut her out and popped her up.  Then I added some glitter to her dress and hair.  I debossed the mirror background paper with a Sizzix snowflake folder.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the white down the middle.  The black ribbon is from So Trendy.  The red accents were to add a little more Christmas feel to this card.  I have wanted to use this image since it came out.  I just love it.

The layout I used was created by my friend Kathy for Tuesday Morning Sketches.  Thanks Kathy for the sketch and thanks to all of you for stopping by.  Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and see what the rest of the design team has created.

Not too Shabby - Corrosive Challenges

Hi everyone.  I feel like I haven't posted in forever.  I am back from Kentucky, the wedding was lovely and then it happened.  I came home with the Kentucky Plague.  It seems like every time I travel to Kentucky, I get sick.  And when I get sick, it lasts and lasts.  I am finally starting to come out of it and just in time for this post for Corrosive Challenges.  This challenge is called Not too Shabby and it is sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps.  We ask that you make your project a bit Shabby Chic.

Shabby Chic is not really my thing.  I love super bright colors but I gave it a shot and I think it came out pretty good.  My good friend Regan always pics out everything first before even coloring her image.  Not me.  I usually color first and figure it all out later.  But since I wasn't feeling my best, I thought I would give Regan's method a try.  It worked for me once in the past too.  I think she is definitely on to something because I was able to get this done a lot faster than I normally do.  Come to think of it, I even colored it a lot faster.  I guess there is something to be said for having a plan.  This may change the way I craft.  I even used seam binding for the first time.  I borrowed that little idea from Kathy.  I also stained it a little with some ink.

There is one thing I need to work on.  I feel like instead of being Shabby Chic, this looks a little dirty instead of shabby.  I will get the hang of it though.  Please head over to Corrosive Challenges and see what the rest of the design team has done for your inspiration.

Hi and welcome to another Super Sassy Blog Hop.  If you arrived here from the super talented Kathy's blog, you are on the right track.  I am so sad to tell you that I do not have a project to share with you today.  However, I have a very good reason.  I am in Kentucky right now with my family.  My niece, Grace, is getting married this evening.  I have been so busy with everything that I just couldn't get it all done.  We previewed some great images for you this week and today they are being released so you can get your very own.  All the details are available on the Sassy Studio Designs Blog.

I am ready with my favorite flower though.  This is an easy one for me.  I love, love, love oriental lilies.

Aren't they gorgeous.  I just love them!  Your next stop is the amazing Karen's blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Graduation Noah

As promised, here is another adorable graduation image from Platypus Creek Digitals.  This is Graduation Noah.  He is just as cute as Graduation Ella don't you think?  I did my usual with Copis and dimensionals.  I made this a companion card to yesterday's.  I just love that background paper and wanted to use it again.

Please head over to Platypus Creek Digitals to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with Noah.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Graduation Images from Platypus Creek Digitals

Platypus Creek Digitals is releasing some super cute graduation images.  The first one is Graduation Ella.  Isn't she such a cutie?  I colored little Ella with Copics, of course, cut her out and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  I used some Spellbinders nesties as her base.  I kept this one CAS.  Platypus Creek Digitals will have another graduation image debuting tomorrow.

I hope all you mothers enjoyed your day today.  I spent the day making 82 million chocoalte covered oreos for my niece's wedding on Saturday.  Ok, maybe just 150 but it felt like 82 million.  Now I just have to add the ribbons and they will be ready to go.

Don't forget to hop over and check out what the rest of the Design Team has been created for you with this adorable image.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful moms out there.   Corrosive Challenges has another awesome challenge for you called Flowers and Bling and Doilies Oh My.  You must use any 2 or all 3.  We are sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps (love TPS!).  Here is my card.

I used this great image from Tickled Pink.  This is Kellita.  Isn't she adorable?  My favorite part of this image is the little bird in her hand.  Of course I had to make the bird green like Sydney.  I love my little green Sydney.  I made this card for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day.  This will be my second Mother's Day without my mother.  Still sad but it is getting easier.

I colored Kellita with Copics, cut her out and popped  her up.  The doily part of my card didn't really show up too well.  I used a border punch on the white strip under the ribbon to give it a doily feel.  My bling is spaced all around the card and my flower is sort of in your face huh?  I went monochromatic which turned out lovely in real life but the details didn't quite come through in the picture.  I hope my MIL likes it.

Please head over to Corrosive Challenges to see what the rest of the Design Team created for your inspiration.  Also head over to Tickled Pink.  They are having some great sales right now.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Kennedie

It is time for another Dare to be Sassy Thursday Challenge from Sassy Studio Designs.  Today we have a sketch challenge for you.  Here is the card I made for my niece Kennedie's birthday.

Here is the sketch from our DTBST leader Kathy.

The Sassy Studio Designs image I chose for Kennedie's card is Mortisha Honey.  I colored her hair red to match Kennedie's.  She has...wait had the most beautiful red hair.  You know how kids are.  They are never happy with what they have.  She colored her beautiful red hair black, without permission from her mother.  I did the same thing myself when I was 18. Kennedie is ahead of the game, she is only 14.  Oh Kennedie!

I colored Mortisha Honey with Copics and fussy cut her out.  I popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The background paper is from the DCWV Black Currant Stack.  I love this paper.  Kennedie's favorite color is purple so it worked perfectly.  I used QuicKutz dies also.  I hope Kennedie likes it.

Be sure to check out what the other SSD Design Team members created for your inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hi everyone.  The new challenge at Platypus Creek Digitals is Flowers!!!  I am using this lovely freebie from Platypus.  I have a dear friend that posted some wonderful things about me recently so I wanted to post something for her.  Her name is Cathy and she likes clean and simple cards.  She is not a fan of people images.  She just like simple layers and a simple design so this one is for you Cathy.

The background paper is from Graphic 45.  It is from the Wizard of Oz collection.  I love the Wizard of Oz!!!!  I bought 2 sets of paper, one to use and one to keep.  The die cuts are from Spellbinders and QuicKutz.  The flowers across the middle were made using a Martha Stewart punch.  I hope you like it Cathy.

Please head over to Platypus Creek Digitals and see what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.  Then join in won't you?  Thanks for stopping by.

DTBST - Frame It

Welcome to another Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge from Sassy Studio Designs.  The theme of this week's challenge is Frame It.

I used Jack and Sally Honey from SSD for my card.  This is a flip flop card.  I went to Adventures in Stamping last weekend and had a great time.  One of my purchases was from The Stamp Doctor and it was a custom die from Spellbinders that actually cuts and scores your paper to make the perfect flip flop card.  This was the first time I used it.  I met the Stamp Doctor herself and had a great time picking her brain.

I had started coloring Jack and Sally a while back.  I did several JS cards and even had an order for a custom framed art piece of them.  I honestly only had Sally's face done before I started this card.  I wanted to use my QuicKutz Doily Rectangle die for the frame but it was too big.  I ended up cutting it down to fit.  I think it came out okay.  I have used the black polka dot background on several cards.  I am down to just a few scraps of it now.

Please head over to Sassy Studio Designs and see what the others have created.  I am just amazed at all the talent we have on our DT.  I am going to have to work a lot harder just to keep up with them.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

BBQ Birdie from Doodle Pantry

It is May 1st and that means new images are being released at Doodle Pantry.  Exciting right?  This little guy is called BBQ Birdie.  How adorable is he?!  Each month Doodle Pantry releases so many images that it is hard to pick a favorite.  Normally I always go for the birdies.  DP has the best birdies, but this time, I think I love the sea turtle.  I am working on him now and you will see my card soon.

I colored my BBQ Birdie with Copics.  I know sometimes I have a very heavy hand and I may have overdone it a bit but he is still cute.  I cut him out and popped him up with SU dimensionals.  Since it is May, I thought of Memorial Day so I used a patriotic background paper.

Please head over to Doodle Pantry and check out all the fabulous new images.  Like I said before, you will have a hard time picking a favorite.  Thanks for stopping by.
