Monsters in the Factory!!

The Burtonesque Dolls have a problem this week.  The monsters have taken over Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.  We are sponsored by Strange Skin and we were given really cool images to work with.  Mine is the Bride of Frankenstein.  I colored her with Copics.  I popped up the bride and the screw heads with SU dimensionals.  The border punch is Drippy Goo from MS.  I didn't really have an appropriate chocolate factory sentiment so I just added happy haunting from SU.

I added green and purple to her skin but it doesn't really show up in this picture.  I wanted her nice and bruised.  Her hair is just out of control!

Anything Goes!

2 Sisters Challenge is asking you to do whatever you want this week.  The challenge is "Anything Goes" and is sponsored by Crafty Sentiments and Glitterbabes.  I used Flora from Crafty Sentiments and colored her with Copics.  I am in love with this background paper.  The colors are so vibrant.  I used some ribbon from my "box-o'-scraps" and cut out the image mat with some nesties and used a little distress ink.

I love fairies and manga so this image is going to be one I use many times.  My niece draws amazing manga eyes.  I am hoping she will be doing her own images soon.  Thanks to Crafty Sentiments.  This one is a keeper.

Please hop over to the 2 Sisters and check out what the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration.

Elegance

Hi everyone.  Sassy Studio Designs is doing Elegant with Lace and Pearls.   I tried to keep the colors simple on this one to keep it elegant.  Sometimes I tend to use too many colors.  My "lace" was created with a Fiscars border punch on the chocolate piece of paper.  My pearls are brads from Pizzazz Aplenty.

I am keeping this post short because it is my birthday and I ate too much and need to change my clothes and relax.

Aunt Beck It's Jack Sparrow!!!!!!

The Burtonesque Dolls and Simply Betty Stamps are very excited to tell you that the Captain has arrived!  I am dedicating this card and post to my little niece Cortlynn.  I have watched Pirates with her sooooooo many times.  Every time Johnny Depp rides up on his sinking ship she yells "Aunt Beck it's Jack Sparrow".  She loves him!!!!

I spent an hour and a half coloring this bad boy with Copic markers.  I think he turned out ARRsome.  I used an EK punch for the ribbon weaving.  The die cut behind Jack is from Spellbinders.

Simply Betty has some great offers for you on this pirate collection.

Here are the discounts:
6 Clear stamps for $ use code Pirates6
3 Clear Stamps for $ use code Pirates3

Now, how about some freebies? How can you get a freebie you say?

Here comes Ginger!

It is day 4 of The Burtonesque Dolls and Simply Betty Sneak Peek.  Today we have Ginger.  Doesn't she look like she is up to something?  My niece has that same look in her eyes.  I won't mention which one I am talking about.  They will have to figure that one out themselves.

I enjoyed coloring this one a lot.  I started out making her African American but my color choices justs didn't work.  I recolored the flesh areas and paper pieced them to my original.  That wasn't fun.  I need a lot more practice.

Please stop over to TBD and see what the rest of the design team has created.

Meet Marty and Lizzy!!!

It is Sneak Peek Day 3 for The Burtonesque Dolls and Simply Betty Stamps!  So sorry I missed yesterday.  To be honest...I did the wrong image.  So today I put yesterday's image, Lizzy, on a card with today's image, Marty.  Marty has his monkey friend on his shoulder and Lizzy is looking quite playful.

I colored them with Copics and popped them up on a free background I found online.  I lost the name of the site I got it from.  If I find it, I will post it in case anyone else wants it.

Don't you just love these pirates so far?  Pop over to TBD and see what the rest of the dolls have created for you and make sure you check back tomorrow for another sneak peek image.

Once again, I need to thank Alicia for taking my picture.  I have to brag about her online or she will stop!  Thanks Alicia.

Pirate Sneak Peek....Bonnie!

The Burtonesque Dolls are doing a Sneak Peek with the help of Simply Betty Stamps.  Who doesn't love a good looking pirate?!  We are starting out Bonnie.  She is the first in the Funky Punky Pirate Collection.  I colored her with Copics.  I was going for a pink/black abstract theme on this one.  I just love the pink skull and crossbones on the background paper.  I popped Bonnie up with some SU dimensionals.  The ribbon is generic from my "box-o-scraps".  Thanks to Alicia for taking the picture again for me.

I can't wait to show you the 5 other images in this Funky Punky Pirate Collection...but you will have to wait.  You will have to come back tomorrow to see the next one.  Please stop over at TBD and see what the rest of the dolls have created for you.

Flowers!!!!

Today 2 Sisters Challenge wants to know "How does your garden grow?!"  We are sponsored by Pattie's Creations.  She gave us this beautiful image to work with.  I colored it with Copic markers.  I used 3D crystal effects on the vase.  I cut out a few of the tulips and popped them up with a rolled up glue dot.  I used nesties for the mat and popped the whole thing up with SU dimensionals.  I used an EK border punch on the bottom and two SU punches for the sentiment.  The sentiment is also SU as is the cardstock.

I really love the way my tulips came out!  And I am very glad my niece took the picture again.  She does a much better job than I do.

Please pop over to 2 Sisters and check out what the rest of the Design Team created for your inspiration.

Distressing.......

Thank goodness my photographer was available today!  My last picture didn't come out very good.  This week 2 Sisters Challenge is sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps and One Stop Card Crafts.  The challenge is to make a distressed project.  I started with this beautiful dragon image from Stitchy Bear Stamps called Guarding the Egg.  I colored the dragon with Copic markers and added some glitter here and there.  I put crystal laquer on the egg for a little shine.

Next, I got out my Tim Holtz distressing tool and attacked my paper with it.  I then distressed it further with a little SU Creamy Caramel ink.  I used an EK border punch and added ribbon.  I am a big Harry Potter fan so I loved doing this image.  I love the scene where Fred and George are rooting for the dragon instead of Harry.

Please stop over at 2 Sisters and check out what the rest of the Design Team created for your inspiration.

May Flowers

April showers bring May flowers at Sassy Studio Designs.  The challenge this week is to make your own flowers as embellishments.  I started with this amazing image from SSD.  I have a particular little red head in mind for this card.  She just turned 13.  I colored her with Copics and added a paper rose.  I kind of took the easy way out with this flower.  Time got away from me this week.  Sorry the post is so short but I really need some sleep.

Please stop by SSD and join in the fun.  Thanks for stopping by!

Burton Zombie Time!!

It is Zombie Time for The Burtonesque Dolls.  For this challenge we ask that you create a Burtonesque Zombie project.  I used the totally awesome image from Simply Betty Stamps.  How cute is a zombie in Daisy Dukes!!!!!!  I colored her with Copics (of course) and popped her up with SU dimensionals.  The background is from VectorJungle.com.  I Googled beach images since I didn't really have anything to go with this image.  I found this one.  Pretty fitting I thought.  I added some super fine sand Flower Soft to the castle and the beach.

Please stop by TBD and see what the rest of the Design Team has created for you.  Thanks for stopping by.

Santa Baby!!!

It is the first of the month and that means another Sassy Studio Designs Christmas challenge.  The theme this month is Santa Baby.  Your project must include Santa or Mrs. Claus somewhere in it.  I chose to do a little fantasy scene with this great SSD image all wrapped up and waiting for Santa to come back.  Obviously, Santa liked what he saw!!!

I colored my image with Copics.  Santa is clipart.  The tree is an original Sizzix die.  I hope you like it.  Please check out the SSD blog for all the challenge details.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Just think, it will be one less card to make during the holidays since you will be getting it out of the way now.

Thanks for stopping by.
