Side Step Card

Hi everyone.  This week 2 Sisters Challenge is all about Moms.  We are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique and the challenge is to make either a Mother's Day card or something for Mom.  I chose to make a "missing you" card for my mother.  She passed away recently and I miss her very much.  She would have loved this one.

I started with this great mermaid image from The Stamping Boutique.  I colored her with Copics and popped up her torso and the front of her hair with SU dimensionals.  I added MS glue glitter all over (my mom liked sparkle) and used some nesties behind her.  Here is a close up shot.  I hope you can see the detail.

The card is called a Side Step Card courtesy of Split Coast Stampers.
Here is the link:

I used a Marianne Design die cut for the seaweed.  The fish are Sticko stickers.  I really like the way this one turned out.  I am definitely going to use this design in the future.  I hope you like it.

Please stop over at 2 Sisters and check out what the rest of the Design Team has done for your inspiration.

Spring Photo Inspiration

2 Sisters Challenge invites you to participate in a Photo Inspiration challenge.  Pop over to see the photo used for this challenge.  We are sponsored by Stamp Fairy.  The bunny image I used was a freebie on their site.  It wasn't listed in the freebie section but it was free.  I covered his face/ears with sparkle fluff.  I colored the inside of the ears with Copics and then added just a touch of pink flock at the base of the ears.  The eyes are MSglue glitter.  I put a little diamond glaze on the nose and popped it up.

The flowers are from Prima.  I used several nesties for this one and some ribbon I have had for ages.  It is stretchy and very hard to work with.  I don't think I will try to make another bow with it in the future.

Please join us for this challenge.

More RagDolls

The Burtonesque Dolls are doing more RagDolls!!!!  These two cuties are more of the RagDolls from Simply Betty Stamps.  I colored them with Copics and did a very simple layout.   I loved this paper and I hope you can see all the sparkle it has.  A simple piece of ribbon and a sentiment from SU and I was done.

I live to color and these two were lots of fun!  Thanks to Betty for allowing me to use them.  You're the best Betty.  Please pop over and see what the other Dolls created for your inspiration.

SPRING SASSY TIME!!!!

New Spring Releases from Sassy Studio Designs!!

Welcome to the release blog hop.  If you came here from Kathy's blog you are on the right track.  If you have started in the middle, please hop over to Sara's blog so you don't miss anything.  I got to use this awesome Towel Sassy from SSD.  I colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her up.  The background is a piece of vellum that I ran through and embossing folder.  I placed it on a white background.

Normally, I like to make my own embellishments. This time I let Jolee do the work for me.  I have had this tub in my craft box for ages.  I thought it lightened the sexiness of the image and added a playful quality.  I originally bought this for a scrapbook page I am doing of my nieces.  I have cute tub photos of all of them when they were babies.  I saved the rubber duckies for that page.

Next in line is:

Please hop over and check her project out.    All the details of this hop will be posted on the SSD blog.  Make sure to leave a comment there to win a new release.  Feel free to leave me one as well.  I love comments.  Also, please join us for the Party Chat at 7 pm PST.  You can chat with the Design Team and others.  Hope you come!

Also, here's a BIG shout out to Debbie!!!!!!  She was the winner of the Design your own Sassy and our guest designer for this hop.  Way to go Debbie!!!!!

BINGO!!!!

We are playing Bingo at 2 Sisters Challenge.  Our sponsors for this challenge are Robyn's Fetish and Pizzazz Aplenty.  The challenge is to complete one or more rows of this Bingo Card:

Or....you can do the ENTIRE card, which is what I did.  Let me tell you, it wasn't easy.  I started with the sweet Easter Girl image from Robyn's Fetish.  I colored her with Copics in pastel (#1) colors.  I placed her on a die cut circle (#2) I cut out with Nesties.  The upper portion of the background was embossed (#3) with a Cuttlebug folder.  The lower portion has ribbon (#4) running through it.  Across the middle is a piece of black lace (sorry but it was all I had - #5).  I added some glitter to the wings (#6).  I put a flower in the corner (#7) with a beautiful pearl brad in the center from Pizzazz Aplenty (#8).  I place a few purple swirls around the image (#9).  Whew...that's a lot in one card.

Please pop over to 2 Sisters and join in the fun.

Sassy Mulan

Hi everyone.  It's all about paper piecing today at Sassy Studio Designs.  I used the totally Sassy Mulan image for my card.  I colored her face and hair with Copics.  Her entire dress has been paper pieced.  The brown is the same as the background paper.  The middle and straps match the next largest piece.  The sentiment is from SU.  The foliage was cut out with another Marianne Design die.  I really love the dies but hate digging the paper out of them.  The flower is a quilled fringe flower.

Please pop over to SSD and join in the fun.

RagDolls the Burtonesque Way

The Burtonesque Dolls decided to play with some RagDolls today...courtesy of Simply Betty Stamps.  Betty was kind enough to give the design team some great RagDolls to work with.  I am totally in love with their mouths.  I just love the way they look.  So cool!

I colored mine with Copics.  She is placed on a "quilt" background.  I found the adorable pink and black skull paper and fell in love with it.  I was running behind so I kind of had to leave everything else simple.  The die cut she is placed on is from Marianne Designs.  I am still having trouble getting the paper out of the die after I run it through my Big Shot.  I guess I need more practice.

Please pop over to TBD and get all the challenge details and see what the other DT members have created for you.

THINK SPRING

Hi everyone.  We have another great challenge for you at 2 Sisters Challenge.  I am sure tons of you will love this one!  The challenge is SPRING!  If you are ready to put that snow behind you then this one's for you.  We are sponsored by Pattie's Creations and I used Pattie's easter basket digi.  I colored it with Copics and some glitter (of course).  I cut it out with nesties.

I tried a new die (new for me anyway) from Marianne Designs.  I really like the detail but I must say that I had a bit of trouble getting the paper out of it.  If anyone out there has used these, any tips you have would be greatly appreciated.  I had to ease it out.  If you know me, I am impatient and that took way too much time.

I had the ribbon and gems just floating around in the mess on my studio table.  They go perfectly with the background paper.  I hope you like it and play along.  See the 2 Sisters site for all the details.

Burtonesque Brides are Beautiful

The Burtonesque Dolls have a treat for you!  Our challenge is to do a bridal card.  You can do a bride, bridesmaid or anything to do with a bride.  We are sponsored by Tiddly Inks.  The design team was given great digis to create the inspiration pieces.  I colored mine with Copics and simply layered some black lace behind her and on the background paper.  The sentiment is a rub-on from SU.  I thought the black was too dramatic to add anything else to it.  I hope you like it.

Please check out TBD for all the challenged details and to see what the other DT members have created.

Get Well Wishes

Today at 2 Sisters Challenge we are sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps.
The design team was given several adorable images to choose from to create the inspiration projects.  I chose to use Feeling Low Elephant.  Isn't he just the cutest little thing?  I colored him with Copics and popped up his head, table and footboard with SU dimensionals.  I used more scrap papers and a great little strip of ribbon.

I have someone in mind for this card.  He is going through a really rough time.  I hope this helps him even if it is just for a second or two.

SASSY CHRISTMAS TIME!!!!!

I have some very exciting news.  Sassy Studio Designs has started something WONDERFUL!  Are you struggling and rushing around during the holidays trying to find time to make Christmas cards?  SSD has the answer.  Starting April 1, SSD will be hosting a monthly Christmas challenge.  If you participate each month, you will have tons of Christmas cards ready to go before the holidays even arrive.  How great is that?

This month the SSD Christmas challenge is Sparkle and Shine.  I chose to place my SSD image in a Blue setting.  I had some extra blue leftover so why not?!  I went old school and used an original Sizzix die for the Christmas tree.  I decorated it in all blue and white.  For the snow, I used liquid applique.  The sentiment shape is a new Spellbinders banner die.  LUV IT!!!

Please hop to SSD and join in the fun.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.
