WE WISH YOU A SCARY CHRISTMAS!!!

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas!  This is the last Burtonesque Dolls challenge for 2010.
The challenge is WE WISH YOU A SCARY CHRISTMAS.  You can use any Nightmare Before Christmas image to create your best Christmas project...with a Burton flair.

The prize for this week is:

THREE EXCLUSIVE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS IMAGES FROM

I used the amazing Oogie Boogie image created by our own Suzi.  I found the other images online and added them in.  The tree looks much better in person but I guess that is true of most scanned images.  I added dimension to the middle and decorated it with some cute garland I got at Pat Catan's.

I hope you like it!

Let's wind this year up right.  Give it all you've got and join in on the fun.  Good luck and the Dolls will be back next year!

Sketch Challenge at The Burtonesque Dolls

Woohoo...leave the design to us this week and follow this fun sketch provided to us by the lovely Cheri over at Graphic Cat Creations.

Your challenge this week is to create a stunning project using this sketch with a Burtonesque Flair!

It can be Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland or perhaps some Beetlejuice...how about Edward Scissorhands.  The winner of this challenge will receive Simply Betty Stamps original Emo Kids, Christian and Lola rubber stamps.  Now that is an AWESOME prize!

Here is my project:

I started with the amazing sketch and decided to make it a bit dark.  The only actual color I used was red.  I found this super image of Tim Burton as Edward Scissorhands. I added some texture and shading to the layers.  I colored the candycane with Copic markers, cut it out and attached it to the main image for a pop of color.  I used an EK punch for the bat edges.  Super fun!
You will have until Dec 20th, 11:00pm to get your projects uploaded into the link.  Please check out The Burtonesque Dolls site to see what the rest of the Design Team has created to inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by!

BLUE CHRISTMAS

I found some beautiful paper at Archivers a few days ago and I just had to use it.  I decided to make two Blue Christmas cards.  The images are from Kenny K and I absolutely love them.  I colored them with Copic markers.  I also added some white flock to the fur trim and some liquid applique for a little poof.  The ribbon is leftover from my friend Barbie's wedding.  I took it off of the favors that were left at the end of the reception.  Thanks Barbie!

I used an EK snowflake punch on the top card and added a little stickles for some shimmer.  I wanted these to be ver clean cards so I only added snowball embellies on the corners.  I hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

OOGIE BOOGIE FUN!!!

It is time for another Burtonesque Dolls challenge.  Okay, so what is Christmas without that Oogie Boogie right? Today we are challenging you to create the perfect Oogie Boogie project. We have a very special prize for you today, one very special Christmas Digi of that bug man himself Oogie Boogie... all decked out in Christmas gear! This will be an exclusive digi, will not be sold later and only a few of you will have the privilege of having this digi. Other special exclusive NBC sets to be given away later as well.

For my project, I used an amazing digi created by our own Suzi...woot woot!!!  I colored him with Copic markers.  The background paper, card stamps and poker chips are all from Stampin' Up!  I added a Santa hat and some Christmas bulbs that I bought several years  ago on clearance at Pat Catan's, my second home.  I had a great time with this challenge and I hope you do too!
So what are you doing still reading this... get going! Have fun and make it Boogie!
